The PeduliLindung application is the right solution to revitalize the economy so that it can still keep growing while the government keeps prioritizing to control the spread of Covid-19. With the growing widespread use of PeduliLindung and the increasing number of vaccinated people expected, it is expected that Bali could recover and welcome tourist again as it used to be.

Jakarta, 21 September 2021 – Indonesia’s State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) Minister Erick Thohir inspected the implementation of the PeduliLindung application in Denpasar, Bali (20/9), as part of the efforts to prepare Bali to anticipate the new normal era, especially in the tourism sector and to accelerate economic recovery in Bali and its surroundings.

Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Tourism Industries (GIPI) Bali/Bali Tourism Board, I.B. Agung Partha Adnyana said, "PeduliLindungi is a game changer for Bali tourism besides vaccines, because it can provide a safe and convenient perception that tourists want to visit Bali."

The PeduliLindung application is now in use in various locations in Bali, where hotels, restaurants, tourist destinations, malls, places of worship, schools, office areas and other public locations have put up the PeduliLindung QR code. Visitors are required to check-in digitally when entering these locations, in order to minimize the spread of Covid-19.

Telkom Vice President of Corporate Communication, Pujo Pramono said, "The PeduliLindung application is the right solution to revitalize the economy so that it can still keep growing while we also prioritize to controlling the spread of Covid-19. With the growing widespread use of PeduliLindung and the increasing number of vaccinated people expected, it is expected that Bali could recover and welcome tourist again as it used to be.” 

However, Pujo also called on the public to continue adhering to strict health protocols and to comply with government policies, especially when traveling during the pandemic.

Apart from inspecting the implementation of PeduliLindungi, Erick Thohir also took the time to interact with micro, small, medium enterpreneurs (MSMEs) in Denpasar. Erick appreciated the MSMEs’ enthusiasm to keep their businesses running despite the pandemic by optimizing the use of digital technology, such as using MSME PaDi.

Telkom is committed to continuing to support the government’s efforts in handling Covid-19 and recovering the national economy. "Hopefully with the mutual cooperation spirit, we can be stronger together and able to face this pandemic well," Pujo said.
