Jakarta, 24 September 2021 – All TelkomGroup services – fixed broadband including IndiHome and Telkomsel’s mobile broadband – which experienced a qualilty decline on Sunday (19/9) following disruption on the JaSuKa submarine cable communication system for the Batam - Pontianak segment have resumed and customers throughout Indonesia can access it as normal.
Telkom Vice President of Corporate Communication, Pujo Pramono said, "To date (24/9), we have reached the servcie recovery target with the bandwidth capacity recovering 100 percent, in line with the increase in capacity by 1Tbps last night. This is due to efforts in increasing the network capacity by activating back-up and alternative lines, especially for communication lines to certain areas such as Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Papua. Thus, TelkomGroup normal services, both fixed and mobile broadband, have resumed 100%.”
Meanwhile, Telkom is currently preparing the team, cableship and all that is required to speed up the JaSuKa submarine cable repair which is disrupted at a certain point located about 1.5 km off the coast of Batam and 20 meters below sea level. The submarine cable repair is estimated to finish in the second week of October or even sooner. At the same time, Telkom has succeeded in rerouting and activated back-up links, so that customers can still access and enjoy TelkomGroup normal services including IndiHome as usual without having to wait for the completion submarine cable connection.
Pujo thanked the loyal customers for their trust and support in using TelkomGroup services. “We are making many efforts to ensure customers’ conveniece in accessing various TelkomGroup services. Hopefully customers can conveniently resume their digital activities.
