Jakarta, 31 March 2022 – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) was present again at the ]Indonesia Pavilion Expo 2020 Dubai. With a tagline "Welcoming You to South East Asia with Digital Sovereignty", the hybrid event was held from the Indonesian Business Lounge Pavilion and streamed online via video conference and Telkom Indonesia’s social media accounts on 23-24 March 2022.
The two-day event featured various digital innovations from Telkom and its latest subsidiaries, as well as Telkom's activities in playing the role of digital transformation in Southeast Asia. The topics discussed included digital ecosystems, digitization of fisheries and agriculture, as well as startup investments by MDI in Southeast Asia. It also introduced and discussed Telkomsel Indico, Telin's digital transformation and Mitratel's digital infrastructure. Various speakers featured in the event including the Director General of Aquaculture of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, TB. Haeru Rahayu, Head of Agricultural Education Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, Kodrad Winarnoan, d Chairman of APTRINDO or Indonesian Trucking Entrepreneurs Association, Dr. Gemilang Tarigan, and Vice President Wholesale Payment of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero), Norman Defryzal. Also present was President Director of PT New Priok Container Terminal One (NPCT 1), Takao Omori as one of the speakers.
For the first session, Telkom introduced Logee themed “From Siloed Logistics to Ecosystem Platform Simplify Digital-Connecting Ecosystem.” Logee aims to become a National Digital Logistics Platform to support the realization of a digital ecosystem and simpler connectivity, as well as to take part in building better logistics for Indonesia in the new era of trade.
Speakers in the first session were discussing the very promising and rapidly growing logistics industry in Indonesia, triggered by several factors namely the growing middle class with increasing spending, internet penetration in Indonesia of more than 65%, the CAGR of GMV eCommerce that grew by more than 80%, and the CAGR of logistics services that continues to reach double-digit growth .
Logee is Telkom's digital logistics ecosystem service suitable to open up this great opportunity. Logee provides end-to-end digital solutions, is connected to a wider network of logistics ecosystems, automated digital systems, to flexible, safe, and reliable financing processes with state-owned banks.
Telkom also introduced Agree products themed "The Digital Era of Agriculture & Fisheries: Connecting the Unconnected". Agree aims to respond to the prospect of maximizing agricultural potential in Indonesia and the needs of every stakeholder.
The head of the Center for Agricultural Education at the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, Tb Haeru Rahayu, said that aquaculture has untapped yet enormous potential. He said that digitalization has huge potential in making aquaculture production much more effective and efficient. The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries is now collaborating with Telkom in order to develop an aquaculture village.
Kodrad Winarno from the Ministry of Agriculture also added that “one of the most important assets in Indonesian agriculture is going through a regeneration crisis. Building a digitalization ecosystem can be an important effort in advancing the agriculture sector and involving young people. Currently, Indonesia is transforming from traditional agriculture to more modern and digital agriculture.” In terms of developing agricultural digitization, the Ministry of Agriculture is cooperating with Telkom through the Agree product.
In the Indonesia Pavilion, Telkom introduced its best products and innovations. Some of the products displayed include Logee, Padi UMKM, Big Box, Agree, and others.
Telkom Digital Business Director, Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid said, “currently, digitalization is inevitable. It is time for all sectors of life and all regions in Indonesia to embrace digitalization in order to realize digital inclusiveness and accelerate digital acceleration. Telkom consistently continues to introduce products that can accelerate the digitization of Indonesian society. We hope that our participation in the Indonesia Pavilion Expo 2020 Dubai can expand the exposure of these products and will benefit various parties."
TelkomGroup took the opportunity during the event at the Indonesia Pavilion for a roadshow and met with investors and potential investors from the government, sovereign wealth fund managers, private sector and entrepreneurs, including digital start- ups in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. TelkomGroup met and discussed with the UAE Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), Abu Dhabi Growth Fund, Infive (In5) and Hub71. At the business meeting held at the Sheraton Mall of Emirates Hotel, Telkom showcased its profiles and various products, and it was followed by one-on-one discussions with the companies present at the forum.
Telkom capped the event at the Expo 2020 Dubai with a courtesy dinner at the Indonesian Consulate General's Office in Dubai. Telkom hopes that the Expo 2020 Dubai event will be an important milestone to create more job opportunities and investment for a better Indonesia.
