Jakarta, 7 July 2022 - As a state-owned enterprise and the leading digital telco, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) presents itself as a company that focuses not only on business but also consistently continues to provide the most benefit to the community.

To celebrate Eid al-Adha 1443H and a manifestation of its sharing and contribution to the community, TelkomGroup once again provided sacrificial animals on behalf of the company, themed "Qurban Breeds Praiseworthy Morals with the Spirit of Sharing". The handover of the animal was held in a hybrid manner with the Deputy Chairman/Executive Director of NU Care Lazisnu, the Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Drs. H. Qohari Kholil, Chairman of the LAZISMU of Muhammadiyah Central Executive Board Dr. Mahli Zainuddin, M.Si, Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah, Telkom Human Capital Management Director Afriwandi, General Chairperson of TelkomGroup Taklim Council (MTTG) Hari Sandi Atmaja, and Telkom Senior General Manager Community Development Center Division Hery Susanto, along with Telkom Executive Vice President Regions 1-7 in attendance.

This year, TelkomGroup handed over more than 922 sacrificial animals consisting of 275 cows and 647 goats or sheep. The sacrificial animals comes from the company and the employees. The qurbani meat will be distributed to the poor in TelkomGroup office vicinity, as well as to Telkom retirees. The sacrificial animals' meat distribution is carried out in collaboration with Nadhlatul Ulama, Muhammadiyah, TelkomGroup Taklim Council (MTTG), and DKM mosques in the TelkomGroup offices vicinity, in the head office and Telkom Regional offices.

Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah said, "Although this year the Covid-19 pandemic is better, but similar to the previous year, the slaughtering of sacrificial animal and their meat distribution was carried out in accordance with the the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Indonesian Ulema Council provisions, while still adhering to COVID-19 protocols."

Senior General Manager of Telkom's Community Development Center Division Hery Susanto added that there was an 18 percent increase in sacrificial animals donation compared to last year. "The sacrificial animals that we distribute have a certificate of being free of mouth and nail diseases so they are safe for slaughter and further distribution," Hery said.

Executive Director of NU Care Lazisnu, the Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Drs. H. Qohari Kholil expressed his gratitude for the mandate that Telkom gives to his charity group to receive and distribute the sacrificial animals' meat. "We will distribute this assistance to people who are entitled to receive it. Hopefully there will be even more meat next year, so you will count more blessings. Chairman of the LAZISMU Executive Board, Muhammadiyah Central Executive Dr. Mahli Zainuddin, M.Sc. also conveyed the same expression. 

The handing over of sacrificial animals is an annual activity for Telkom to celebrate Eid al-Adha. Since 2016, Telkom has distributed more than 5,000 sacrificial animals. By distributing the sacrificial animal, Telkom hopes it can be beneficial for the community and be a blessing for the company, so that TelkomGroup can continue to make a real contribution to the community in a sustainable manner.

Let's make this spirit of sacrifice a momentum in deepening our care for others in the midst of the ongoing pandemic and strengthening brotherhood among fellow Muslims," Ririek said.
