Jakarta, 18 January 2021 – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) and Health Care and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) agreed to work together to provide optimum health services to the community. Telkom Director of Enterprise & Business Service Edi Witjara and BPJS Kesehatan Director of Finance and Investment Kemal Imam Santoso marked the agreement by signing the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) in Jakarta recently.
This collaboration is a joint effort to utilize resources that both parties owned and to collaborate on each party’s role based on the principles of mutual assistance and mutual support, in order to achieve optimization the National Health Insurance-Healthy Indonesia Card (JKN-KIS) implementation, while in adherence to good corporate governance (GCG) and the governing legislation.
Telkom Director of Enterprise & Business Service Edi Witjara expressed appreciation for BPJS Kesehatan's trust in TelkomGroup as a provider of digitization services to support improving community health services quality. "As a state-owned enterprise whose core competence is information and communication technology ranging from cloud, managed services, data centers, payment systems, monitoring systems, satellite operations, and many more, TelkomGroup is ready to support BPJS Kesehatan's short, medium, and long, digital revolution especially in public health services, so that people can benefit from convenient health services," Edi Witjara said.
Meanwhile, BPJS Kesehatan Director of Finance and Investment Kemal Imam Santoso said that he hoped that through this cooperation Telkom and BPJS Kesehatan could optimize the JKN-KIS implementation in the future. “BPJS Kesehatan would not be able to implement the JKN-KIS just by itself. Therefore, we hope that Telkom would support and cooperate with us to implement the JKN-KIS program. Because essentially, this health insurance program is our service to the country and the Indonesian people, Kemal said.
The scope of the synergy between Telkom and BPJS Kesehatan includes expanding participation to the JKN-KIS program within the TelkomGroup as well as strategic partnerships for a joint product development through service and benefit studies, including joint development for data analytics and payment gateway facility for the JKN-KIS fee payment.
This collaboration is expected to open more opportunities for synergy in other fields that will support the JKN-KIS smooth implementation as enabled within the governing legislation. In the future, it is also expected to further improve both parties’ service quality at the national and global levels, so that they can provide the best service and support the welfare of all levels of society.
