Telkom as a state-owned telecommunications company is present at the Indonesia Pavilion Expo 2020 Dubai by  showcasing digital products and startups developed by the nation's best creators to foreign delegates, governments, investors and business partners.

 

Jakarta, 10 January 2022  –  PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) participated again in an international exhibition. This time, Telkom took part in the Expo 2020 Dubai, an international exhibition that features profiles and achievements of countries from around the world. Indonesia's pavilion highlights three main sectors,  trade, investment, and tourism, its pavilion at the exhibition. 

Telkom, as a state-owned telecommunications company, was present at the Indonesia Pavilion Expo 2020 Dubai, precisely during the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information engagement on 5-6 January. The event was held in a hybrid manner, offline from Expo 2020 Dubai and online via Telkom's YouTube channel and Instagram. During these two days, Telkom introduced its best digital products and startups that Indonesian developers created to foreign delegates, governments, investors and business partners. The issues highlighted during the event included big data and its application to vaccinations in Indonesia, the Internet of Things, strategies to win business competition with big data, Telin's role in accelerating digital expansion to the future of the gaming industry in Indonesia. In addition, there was also a startup pitch and speed dating by MDI with eight local startups, namely Izy,Optiongo, TaniHub, Manpro, Alodokter, Ctscope, SiCepat, and Dagangan participating in the events.

At the Indonesia Pavilion Expo 2020 Dubai, Telkom presented several sources via online, such as Director General of Postal and Information Technology Resources Ismail, Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Information Mira Tayyiba, Chief Digital Transformation Office of the Ministry of Health Setiaji ST. M.Si, Partner Bain & Company's Singapore Kiran Karunakaran, Director of Government Informatics Application Services of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Bambang Dwi Anggono, Director General of Information Applications of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, Director of Digital Economy Directorate General of Aptika of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics I Nyoman Adhiarna, Partner Boston Consulting Povilas Joniškis Group and other resource persons and experts in technology and transformation.

Representing the Minister of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia, Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Information Mira Tayyiba in her speech said,Indonesia has intensively responded to the pandemic by rolling out vaccination drives and mandatory use of PeduliLindungi tracing application, which is a collaboration of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Ministry of Health, and Telkom.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Information also said “Indonesia has prepared infrastructure that supports digital acceleration. On this occasion we invite ICT and technology investors in the upstream and downstream sectors to take part in realizing our digital transformation plan. We believe this is the right time for investors to invest in Indonesia.”

Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid, as Telkom Digital Business Director emphasized the importance of digital transformation. “Digital transformation has had a huge impact on both workers and consumers. The impact for workers is that it creates job opportunities, increases activity and productivity. While the impact for consumers is to improve service for customers and facilitate customer accessibility to business," Fajrin said.

Fajrin Rasyid also emphasized that Telkom plays a role in digital transformation, by developing the big data center. He said that to date, Telkom has 20 data centers across urban and various other areas in Indonesia. 

The series of activities that Telkom participated in at the Indonesia Pavilion Expo Dubai 2020 went smoothly last week. The activities are expected to trigger foreign investors' interests to invest in Indonesia and acknowledge that Indonesia's digitization phases are getting stronger from time to time.
