Jakarta, 23 August 2021 – Taking the momentum of the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) has once again made a real contribution to Indonesia's development by utilizing digitization. In its support for the education sector, Telkom once again held the Telkom Smart Campus Awards (TeSCA) program themed "Digital Smart Campus Makes Indonesia Grow".

Telkom Smart Campus Awards 2021 (TeSCA 2021) is a ranking, awarding, and publishing program for all universities in Indonesia and the academic community, lecturers and students, in order to groom national digital talent. The campus rankings are based on the ZEN framework methodology of Acting Director General of Higher Education at the Ministry of Culture and Education Prof. Dr. Nizam, M.Sc., DIC. Ph.D., Chairman of Aptikom Prof. Zainal A. Hasibuan, MLS, Ph.D., and information technology expert Prof. Dr. Ir. Richardus Eko Indrajit, M.Sc. MBA, Mphil, MA.

Telkom Enterprise and Business Service Director Edi Witjara said, in reference to President Joko Widodo's statement that Indonesia needs 9 million digital talents in the next 15 years or at least 600 thousand talents per year, Telkom makes various efforts to encourage the emergence of digital talent. The 2021 TeSCA is a manifestation of Telkom's efforts as the leading digital telco in producing the best digital talents.

"We encourage all universities in Indonesia to participate in TeSCA 2021, as they would be able to boost digital adoption in universities and develop digital creativity from the academic community. By implementing the pentahelix strategy, we hope we can establish good cooperation between the five elements, namely government, academic, media, community, and business so that they can produce more digital talents as competent and highly competitive future generations," Edi said.

Acting Director General of Higher Education at the Ministry of Culture and Education Prof. Dr. Nizam, M.Sc., DIC. Ph.D. appreciates Telkom's efforts to encourage the universities' transformation in utilizing technology and improving the quality of human resources by organizing TeSCA 2021. "We hope that state and private universities in Indonesia can participate and play an active role in realizing an independent, smart, creative and innovative campus that is to produce superior and competitive human resources," Nizam said.

TeSCA 2021 applies two assessment categories. Firstly, digital adoption, which will name a university as "Campus of The Future" for adopting a digitalization system in accordance with the ZEN framework methodology, and secondly, digital creativity which will award an academic community "The Future Generation: Civitas Academica ".

There are five categories of digital adoption in universities; digital infrastructure, digital service, digital learning, digital innovation, and smart collaboration, as for the digital creativity in civitas academica , there are six categories which includes lifestyle, social & community, education & information distribution, productivity, entertainment & home intelligent, and games.

"The 2021 TeSCA award is expected to accelerate digital smart campus adoption so that it could improve the accreditation assessment of universities in Indonesia. In addition, we also provide opportunities for students to develop their competencies and capabilities, so they would be more competitive in their professional world. In addition, students awarded as "The Future Generation" will have the opportunity to develop a career at Telkom Indonesia," Edi said.

The 2021 TeSCA main event will be held to coincide with the Youth Pledge Day on 28 October 2021 as the initial milestone of a joint commitment to create a creative, innovative, and competitive generation.
