Jakarta, 7 March 2022 – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) responded quickly to help communities affected by the earthquake that struck West Sumatra's West Pasaman Regency at the end of February. Telkom's first response was to provide logistical assistance including staple food packages, blankets, mats, tarpaulins, and mattresses. Telkom also set up  communication assistance of free 300Mbps internet network facilities at the community shelters and two WiFi units at the Command Post. Meanwhile, the West Sumatra Region Employees' Wives Forum also provided basic food packages assistance. 

"We expressed sympathy and condolences to the community hit by the earthquake in West Pasaman. May those affected will always have strength and be safe to endure this ordeal. Telkom continues to support the community by providing telecommunication access and basic food assistance in our solidarity to the affected community," TelkomVice President of Corporate Communication, Pujo Pramono said.

General Manager of Telkom West Sumatra Regional Alfi Sumarta said he hoped Telkom's aid could at least meet the displaced community's daily needs for food and shelter. "We hope the affected community could make the most of the aid, and may they will always be given patience and strength to face this ordeal," he said.

After the earthquake, TelkomGroup's overall services resumed operation. The company's infrastructure and telecommunication supporting equipment are also in a safe condition.
