Jakarta, 25 Mei 2021 – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) has named seven startups that have passed the assessment phase for Indigo Creative Nation Batch 1 – 2021 startup intake for Education, Big Data/Artificial Intelligence, Small Medium Business, and Health categories, based on their achievements and social impact to the society. The seven startups had the opportunity to obtain Rp2 billion funding each for the acceleration program and Rp750 million for the incubation program.
Indonesia plays a key role in new economy development in Southeast Asia because Indonesia's digital economy is estimated to reach Rp124 billion by 2025 or about 40 percent of Southeast Asia’s digital economy, according to data on "Economy Southeast Asia (SEA) 2020" released by Temasek, Google, and Bain & Company.
As a state-owned company that consistently fosters Indonesia’s digital economy, Telkom has been carrying out the Indigo Creative Nation initiative, which is a comprehensive startup incubation/acceleration program that upholds business creativity, from nurturing creativity to the Follow-on-Funding (FoF) stage. Indigo's digital startup incubation/acceleration program is held twice a year for intake batches by offering funding of up to Rp2 billion for each startup that successfully passes the incubation/acceleration process. In addition to funding, startups that successfully participate in the incubation/acceleration program could have the opportunity to participate in mentoring programs, synergies, access to TelkomGroup market, and support for venture capital & incubator/accelerator at the global level.
There were 558 startups that were interested to take part in the Indigo Batch 1 - 2021 program and 116 passed the desk selection phase, and narrowed further to 15 startups that presented their pitched virtually to a panel of judges comprised of the Indigo Management team, Indigo Creative Nation mentors, as well as representatives from MDI Ventures and TelkomGroup.
“Telkom, through Indigo Creative Nation, is very selective in determining the startups it will foster in order to cultivate innovation in our society. These seven startups represent sought-after quality startup as not only they are accomplished, but they also have a social impact, and of course they have the potential to contribute to the Indonesia's digital economy growth in the future," said Telkom Director of Digital Business, Fajrin Rasyid in Jakarta ( 24/5).
Meanwhile, Telkom SVP Corporate Communication & Investor Relations Ahmad Reza added that the Indigo Creative Nation event is Telkom’s annual initiative that aims to boost competitiveness, self-reliance, and national economic growth through creative digital industry development. Apart from funding, startups in the Indigo Creative Nation program will also get training.

Tumbasin provides a platform that empowers traditional market traders with a focus on helping increase sales, and opening access to banking for traditional market traders in collaboration with Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI).

A platform that bridges micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs) with technology-savvy digital talents so that they can accelerate their market penetration in cyberspace. It expects to boost labor absorption, reduce unemployment, stem urbanization, and increase MSMEs competitiveness and revenue with their presence on digital platforms.
Allure
Allure developed an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based technology that can examine consumer selfies into data on existing facial skin problems, then recommend any products required to overcome these problems. In addition, Allure is also developing Augmented Reality (AR) technology that allows users to virtually try make-up products.

It provides an Indonesian Sign Language (Bisindo) translation application by utilizing a three-dimensional (3D) animation model to bridge communication between Deaf and hard of hearing people.
