Jakarta, 8 October 2021 –  Tourism is one of the main sectors that generate revenue, therefore the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf)/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Baparekraf) continue to focus on developing five top priority tourism destinations  in Indonesia. One of these destinations is the Mandalika Special Economic Zone on Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara, that PT Indonesia Tourism Development (Persero) or Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) manages.

Enterprise and Business Service Director of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) Edi Witjara and Business Development Director of PT Development Tourism Indonesia (Persero) or Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) Ema Widiastuti witnessed the signing of the cooperation agreement on Infrastructure and Marketing of Information and Communication Technology Services on The Mandalika Special Lanes. The agreement was signed by Telkom Enterprise Service Division Executive Vice President Mohammad Salsabil and President Director of PT ITDC Nusantara Utility, a subsidiary of ITDC, Anak Agung Istri Ratna Dewi at The Mandalika, Lombok (7/10).

This collaboration aims to assist the recovery of Indonesia's tourism and creative economy through innovation, adaptation and collaboration, which includes facilitating the area with reliable and integrated information and communication technology infrastructure so that services to business actors in The Mandalika Area are improved.

Telkom Enterprise and Business Service Director Edi Witjara in his remarks thanked the ITDC Group's for their trust in Telkom to synergize and cooperate, in line with Telkom's ongoing transformation into an increasingly competent digital telecommunication company.

"During this transformation, Telkom has become customer-oriented, and has a vision to become the preferred digital telco to advance the community through our three business focuses; digital connectivity, digital platform, and digital service. With our capabilities, we are ready to collaborate with the ITDC Group to be able to develop the Mandalika Special Economic Zone into a world-class tourist destination," Edi said.

The ITDC Business Development Director Ema Widiastuti concurred, saying "today, we have marked a milestone with Telkom for a cooperation on the Provision, Development and Facilitation of ICT Infrastructure at The Mandalika Special Lanes and Connectivity Services at the Special Lanes which are jointly carried out by ITDC Nusantara Utility and MGPA. We are grateful and confident to have partners to jointly develop The Mandalika integrated tourism resort, which we hope in the future would become a world class destination," Ema said.

On the same occasion, Telkom Executive Vice President of Enterprise Service Division, Mohammad Salsabil and the CEO of PT MGPA Nusantara Jaya, a subsidiary of ITDC Nusantara Property, Ricky Baheramsjah signed the Connectivity Service contract at the Mandalika Circuit. “Thank you to the entire Telkom team who have collaborated with the ITDC Group. Information communication technology is an important aspect for an international motorcycle race in the MotoGP class. We are very pleased to be able to work and collaborate with Telkom to maximize preparation for the races at The Mandalika," Ricky said.

The collaboration is mutually beneficial for Telkom and ITDC Group and provides added value to their respective capabilities. "With the spirit of synergy, Telkom is confident and committed to continuing to support the growth of the Indonesian tourism sector through the provision of integrated information communication technology service solutions in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone and supporting international events such as the World SuperBike (WSBK) and MotoGP races, which will be held at the Mandalika Circuit," Edi said.
