PaDi UMKM records outstanding performance in mid-2023 with 7.5 trillion rupiah in total transaction

Jakarta, 3 August 2023 – In line with efforts to accelerate digital transformation that drives the realization of Indonesia's digital economy, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom), as the main driver of digitalization, remains committed to contributing its best by launching a digital platform for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), namely PaDi UMKM, under the umbrella brand of Leap-Telkom Digital (Leap). The presence of PaDi UMKM as a business-to-business e-commerce procurement platform for goods and services facilitates micro, small, and medium enterprises to realize their goals to have access to a broader market network and open the way for micro, small, and medium enterprises in Indonesia to do business with various state-owned enterprises (SOEs).

"PaDi UMKM is Telkom's effort to make micro, small, and medium enterprises more prosperous, while also driving digital adoption that impacts the improvement of digital capabilities of the society, leading to the creation of digital sovereignty in Indonesia," Telkom Digital Business Director, Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid, said during the PaDi UMKM Media Gathering (3/8).

Micro, small, and medium enterprises significantly contribute to the national economic growth. According to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), ASEAN Investment Report 2022 in October 2022, Indonesia has over 65 million micro, small, and medium enterprises that could potentially contribute more than 60% to the national gross domestic product and are capable of employing 97% of the workforce in Indonesia.

In almost three years of contribution, 94 state-owned enterprises with over 10,000 buyer groups have made PaDi UMKM their digital platform for procuring office needs. Additionally, PaDi UMKM is currently expanding its market network beyond state-owned enterprises to strengthen the role of micro, small, and medium enterprises in an increasingly integrated economic ecosystem.

Moreover, by mid-2023, PaDi UMKM has recorded 7.5 trillion rupiahs from over 340 thousand transactions involving 100 thousand micro, small, and medium enterprises. This transaction value is not only derived from state-owned enterprises but also from non-state-owned enterprises or the private sector that are registered on the PaDi UMKM platform. Meanwhile, throughout 2022, the total transaction value of micro, small, and medium enterprises on PaDi UMKM reached over 5 trillion rupiahs, experiencing a significant increase compared to previous years with transaction values of 1.8 trillion rupiahs in 2021 and 172 billion rupiahs in 2020.

These positive results are driven by various features that facilitate micro, small, and medium enterprises in transacting on the PaDi UMKM platform. For example, the Invoice Financing feature helps fund the working capital of micro, small, and medium enterprises, while the Request for Quotation (RFQ) feature simplifies the process for micro, small, and medium enterprises to fulfill requests for goods or services simultaneously in a single digital system facilitated by PaDi UMKM.

Not only does PaDi UMKM facilitate online connections between micro, small, and medium enterprises and state-owned enterprises, but it also promotes more business deals for micro, small, and medium enterprises through a periodic offline event called Business Matching.

These Business Matchings have been held in many cities across Indonesia, including Semarang, Denpasar, Batam, Makassar, Pontianak, Padang, Balikpapan, Jakarta, Bandung, and most recently in Surabaya in May 2023. All of the Business Matching events organized by PaDi UMKM have generated a total value of over 447 billion rupiah and involved more than 220 micro, small, and medium enterprises.

CEO of PaDi UMKM, Jimmy Karisma Ramadhan, said, "PaDi UMKM doesn't just focus on increasing online transactions; we also organize offline activities such as Business Matching, UMKM Bazaars for Indonesia, and PaDi Expos. Our Business Matchings are held periodically in different locations, while UMKM Bazaars are typically held once a month and have involved over 600 micro, small, and medium enterprises. Meanwhile, PaDi Expo, supported by every state-owned enterprise, has already engaged nearly 400 micro, small, and medium enterprises just this year."

PaDi UMKM is part of Telkom's efforts to accelerate the development of sustainable, economic, and accessible smart digital infrastructure and platforms for all people, aiming to create a more prosperous and competitive nation. Apart from PaDi UMKM, Leap Telkom Digital also encompasses various other digital products and services, which can be viewed at the following link. https://leap.digitalbisa.id/#products.
