Telkom Network & IT Solution Director Herlan Wijanarko gave a presentation on the  TelkomGroup's infrastructure readiness to support the success of the G20 summit week in November.

 

Nusa Dua, 21 October 2022 - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) has successfully completed a telecommunication infrastructure readiness trial ahead of the G20 summit in November. Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment Ayodhia GL Kalake, Director General of Post and Information Administration of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics Ismail, Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics Usman Kansong,  Chair of the Project Management Office (PMO) G20 of the Ministry of State Owned Enterprise Reynaldi Istanto, and Head of the General Bureau of the Ministry of State Secretariat Piping Supriatna, Telkom Network & IT Solution Director Herlan Wijanarko and Telkon Acting Enterprise & Business Service Director Venusiana attended the TelkomGroup Supports G20 infrastructure rehearsal. 

Telkom conducted the testing activities in Nusa Dua to ensure that all main and backup infrastructure systems can operate with premium quality during normal situations or failures and as part of a stress test on the reliability, stability and security of the system when used in operation. The services tested included Wifi, Astinet, SIP Trunk, Telkomsel, Metro-E, UHOS/Hotel Cable TV.

Telkom has been conducting service trials since the second week of August 2022 on 128 infrastructure nodes designated to support the G20 summit, out of a total of 135 nodes, with an achievement rate of up to 95%. On Wednesday (19/10), Telkom conducted rehearsal tests at the last 7 nodes, which included the three main locations for the G20 summit week, namely Apurva Kempinski, Media Center Bali International Convention Center and Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, as well as two Automatic Telephone Centers in Kaliasem and Nusa Dua. Tests are carried out from the aspects of diversity, failover and service stability.

"The summit week of Indonesia's G20 Presidency is a big mandate for Telkom. We are therefore committed to contributing to the success of the summit week by providing premium quality infrastructure and services during the events, in order to achieve three success targets, namely capacity success, quality success, and customer experience success," Telkom Network & IT Solution Director Herlan Wijanarko said.

Director General of Post and Information Technology of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics as well as Telkom Commissioner Ismail appreciated Telkom's commitment in preparing telecommunication infrastructure and services.

"On behalf of the government, we express our appreciation and gratitude to all TelkomGroup staff for the commitment and hard work done to prepare telecommunications infrastructure. The readiness of this infrastructure will boost our confidence level ahead of an international event such as the G20 Summit in November. We need to maintain endurance performance, especially during the peak moments on the D-day," Ismail said.

In general, TelkomGroup infrastructure readiness at the G20 summit week consists of domestic backbone infrastructure with expansion up to 100Tbps, international infrastructure through Manado Gateway and Batam Gateway with total traffic up to 8,961 Tbps, 2,070 access Wifi, 64,931 ODP IndiHome, 7,570 Telkomsel BTS, cyber security system, to power system STO. Especially for the five main venues of the G20 Summit, TelkomGroup is preparing 6,750 Gbps internet, Wifi 772 AP, Telkomsel 10 BTS, and Metro 500 Mbps.

In order to ensure the quality of service, TelkomGroup has established a security post, which will operate from 1 - 18 November 2022. There are 10 security posts operating 24x7 both nationwide, regionwide, areawide and at the venue. A total of 1,997 personnel were deployed to monitor TelkomGroup services during the event, including experts and technicians who were on standby at the location.
