Jakarta, 12 May 2022 – PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) strengthens its B2B IT digital services business by acquiring PT Sigma Cipta Caraka (TelkomSigma) with 2.6 trillion rupiah capital investment. The acquisition was marked by the signing of the Deed of Takeover between Telkom and TelkomSigma with Telkom Finance & Risk Management Director Heri Supriadi, President Director of TelkomMetra Pramasaleh Hario Utomo, President Director of TelkomSigma Bhimo Aryanto, and Sigma Finance & Risk Management Director Tata Sadaya T. Hercules attended in person, while Telkom Strategic Portfolio Director was present online.
The aim of this capital investment is to strengthen and transform the company, in accordance with its strategic transformation plan, which is part of the group strategy that makes TelkomSigma - previously a subsidiary of Telkom Metra - as a direct subsidiary of Telkom. This move is one of the strategic initiatives to accelerate TelkomSigma in becoming a leading B2B IT digital service provider.
A research conducted by Gartner (2021) projects that the Indonesian market for cloud and B2B IT services business would increase significantly, each with a CAGR of 27% for the cloud and a CAGR of 7% for B2B IT services in 2024. The Covid-19 pandemic has also played a role in increasing cloud adoption and accelerating digital transformation. This is also an opportunity for TelkomGroup through Telkomsigma with its B2B IT services business portfolio. For this reason, TelkomSigma continues to prepare in anticipation of the increasing demand for cloud in the future, by expanding services and cooperating with global players. Meanwhile, Telkom Finance & Risk Management Director Heri Supriadi said, "After this corporate action, TelkomSigma will focus its business portfolio on IT services, cloud, and digital services, taking into account the potential for significant growth over the next few years, especially the increasing market demand for cloud and IT services in Indonesia. With this capital investment, TelkomSigma is expected to be more aggressive in supporting the ICT needs of various parties to provide the best value for stakeholders .
