Jakarta, 30 January 2022 – In the course of technological developments and efforts to realize digital sovereignty, the need for digital talent has become a necessity. According to data from the Ministry of Communication and Information, several studies showed that Indonesia needs at least 600 thousand digital talents with intermediate skills every year for the next 15 years. With this background, Leap-Telkom Digital (Leap), committed to supporting the acceleration of Indonesia's digitization including preparation for developing digital talent, is launching Pijar Camp as one of the new services from Pijar Mahir.

Pijar Camp was launched in an event themed Code Your Future and held in hybrid manner on Wednesday (26/1). There were 70 offline participants that attended with strict compliance to health protocols at the Sheraton Gandaria City Hotel, and more than 500 online participants. Prasabri Pesti, Telkom Head of Education Ecosystem marked the start of the event with a keynote remarks, followed by pushing the button procession to symbolize the launch of Pijar Camp.

The event was more livelier with an interactive talk show in which Telkom Digital Business Director Fajrin Rasyid, digital entrepreneur Christian Sugiono, and Chief Product Officer Pijar Camp Alden Hariyanto were among the attendants. The talk show brought the perspectives of experts working in digital business in their respective fields, which are expected to inspire young people to add knowledge or skills and transform their potential into competence.

Telkom Digital Business Director Fajrin Rasyid said, "Today's digital world is changing very rapidly, and anyone who wants to enter the industrial world, must upgrade themselves and be adaptive to the needs that businesses require. One of the ways to continue being adaptive is to join Pijar Camp that will equip soft skills to hard skills required in the professional world. Pijar Camp was established to capture and nurture digital talent in Indonesia."

According to Christian Sugiono as a digital entrepreneur, the biggest challenge when developing a business apart from having a good idea is to find the best talent to compete with established companies. Pijar Camp can be a phase to channel the best talents in the IT field, in order to maximize their potential so that they can work together to build a business and achieve a better vision.

The event moved on to announce the selected 25 out of 713 participants who had registered for the Pijar Camp scholarship. The 25 participants will take part in the next selection process. There will be 10 participants selected as winners who will each receive a 36-million-rupiah Pijar Camp scholarships in the form of bootcamps to become Full Stack Developers and DevOps Engineers.

Pijar Camp is expected to become a forum for young people to develop their skills, so that they can become competent digital talents who are highly competitive in the 5.0 era.

Pijar Camp is Pijar Mahir's newest service. It is a digital learning platform focused on certified training for vocational and professional education.
