Jakarta, 24 January 202 3 - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) through its PaDi UMKM digital platform held a business matchmaking event at the Aryaduta Hotel, Jakarta (19/1) as a form of the company's commitment to support development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The sector is the backbone of the national economy, which contributes significantly to economic growth and job creations. During this event, Telkom recorded over 30 billion rupiah transactions and 2.5 times higher than the transactions in 2022.

Telkom Digital Business Director Fajrin Rasyid said in his remarks that MSMEs contributed more than 60% to national gross domestic products in 2022. PaDi UMKM, a product of Leap-Telkom Digital umbrella, is Telkom's move responding to President Joko Widodo and Minister of State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick Thohir's directions to connect SOEs and MSMEs through a digital ecosystem. "It is increasingly important and we are paying more attention to it in 2023 to dodge the world recession, even though many have said that Indonesia's economy will remain strong and will continue to grow. Therefore, we hope that the community, especially SOEs, can conduct more business with MSMEs," Fajrin said.

Fajrin added PaDi UMKM has held many activities including business matchmaking as an effort to accelerate transactions between SOEs and MSMEs. In addition, PaDi UMKM has held seven business matchmaking activities in seven cities in Indonesia with the largest transaction of more than 12 billion rupiah taking place in the city of Balikpapan.

On the same occasion, Expert Staff for Finance and MSME Development at the Ministry of SOEs, Loto Srinaita Ginting, said SOEs have to always monitor their respective companies' procurement process. "In accordance with the Corruption Eradication Commission and the Minister of State Owned Enterprises's directions, a state-owned enterprise's procurement process is prone to embezzlement, therefore, PaDi UMKM is expected to minimize or even eliminate this risk," Loto said.

Loto also called on the regional administrations  and other SOEs to prioritize purchasing domestic MSMEs products by utilizing PaDi UMKM. "The MSMEs also need to increase their Domestic Component Level or TKDN, as there is a free TKDN certification for MSMEs. We also plan to collaborate with the Ministry of Industry to promote this. We hope the MSMEs can keep up their spirit to always improve their quality and production capacity," Loto said.

Head of DKI Jakarta Provincial Administration's Industry, Trade and SMEs Agency Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, said that PaDi UMKM's business matchmaking activities are in line with the provincial administration's program to empower and boost MSMEs development.

Since its launch in mid-2020, the transaction value generated between SOEs and MSMEs through PaDi UMKM has reached more than 5.1 trillion rupiah out of 240 thousand total transactions. There are 92 SOEs enlisted as members of PaDi UMKM and more than 55 thousand MSMEs enlisted as users. PaDi UMKM is also integrated with other digital products under Leap, a Telkom digital umbrella to achieve evenly-distributed digital acceleration for people across Indonesia and to realize national digital sovereignty.
