Pangkalpinang, 28 June 2022 - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) successfully held the micro, small, medium enterprises or MSME Bazaar as part of Telkom's 57th Anniversafari activities to celebrate its 57th anniversary, at the Pangkalpinang city square last week . Mayor of Pangkalpinang Maulan Aklil, Telkom Commissioner Arya Mahendra Sinulingga, and Telkom Human Capital Management Director Afriwandi were in attendance at the event.
In his remarks, Pangkalpinang Mayor Maulan Aklil welcomed and appreciated Telkom's initiative in supporting Pangkalpinang's economic improvement through the MSME Bazaar (21-23/6). "During the pandemic, Bangka's economic growth was the second highest in Indonesia and we always try to generate new economic centers. Therefore, we really welcome the initiatives and opportunities for synergy between Telkom and Pangkalpinang to further encourage economic growth in Bangka, especially in Pangkalpinang. Let us strengthen our synergy and increase our collaboration," Maulan said.
Accompanied by PGS EVP Telkom Regional I Djoko Srie Handono, Maulan, Arya, and Afriwandi visited the booths set up by MSMEs that Telkom fosters and participants of the MSME Bazaar. Arya said he hopes this Telkom initiative encourages MSMEs growth in Bangka to expand and develop in order to boost Indonesia's digital economy growth.
“Praise God, Telkom's financial assistance and digitalization development really helped us. We have made progress and we expect to yield more profits. We hope in the future Telkom can provide better facilities for MSMEs and involve us to participate in such exhibitions,'' Hijah, the owner of Telkom-assisted MSME Nurasa said.
In addition, Arya also said Telkom is committed to fostering Indonesians' welfare development, in addition to providing quality infrastructure networks. "Telkom is committed to helping underprivileged communities in Bangka City, because by strengthening the lowest level, we will be economically strong," Arya said.
