Jakarta, 2 September 2021 – Lokapala, a Multiplayer Online Battle Area (MOBA) game developed by Indonesian developers at the Anantarupa Studios and published by PT Melon Indonesia will be part of the eSports exhibition competition at the National Games (PON) XX Papua 2021. the Indonesia Esports Assocation (PB ESI ) announced the game’s inclusion in the PON XX 2021 in an online press conference. held last week (24/8). The good news marks a milestone for electronic sport (eSports) to be officially a competition sport at the PON.
The Lokapala games has made history as the first local eSports game to take part in the National eSports tournament. In the past, the first PON was held in Surakarta as a show of Indonesia's sovereignty to the international world. In present day, the Lokapala game inclusion at PON XX Papua 2021 is expected to be the first mark of Indonesia’s sovereignty in the eSports game industry.
Moreover, the Lokapala game inclusion at PON XX Papua 2021 really serves as an example that we all can inspire local game developers to continue to work and participate in the success of the game, at home in in Indonesia and abroad.
