Jakarta, 30 March 2022 –  PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) through the Leap-Telkom Digital (Leap) brand continues to innovate through digital products and services in order to provide the best solutions for every community’s needs. Leap actively cooperates and collaborates with various parties to ensure that everyone can take part in the digitization process including agencies, corporations and governments in all regions in Indonesia.

In an effort to support the implementation of digitalization in eastern Indonesia, Telkom Digital Business Director, Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid, had an audience with the Deputy Mayor of Sorong, Pahimah Iskandar, to introduce Leap's superior digital products and services, namely Telkomsat, Logee, BigBox, and PaDi UMKM, to support government activities in providing the best public service. 

“Together, we welcome Telkom in Papua. We also introduced the leadership of the Regional Secretary of the Sorong City Government. The point of this gathering is to discuss and communicate, which resulted in cooperation,” Pahimah said.

Telkom Digital Business Director, Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid, expressed his gratitude for the Sorong City Government’s warm welcome to Telkom's initiative through various digital products and services. “We are grateful for the welcome. Recently we also strengthened internet services with satellite services through Mangoesky, VSAT IP, VSAT IP Broadband, and TSAT Zone by Telkomsat. In our opinion, Telkomsat services are suitable for the West Papua region. We will also continue to support the government's vision of One Data Indonesia through BigBox, for better integration of national data. From the economic sector, we will also help business actors, especially micro, small, medium enterprises in Sorong to produce or sell their goods through PaDi MSMEs and Sooltan Pay with SOEs."

Fajrin further explained that in March, Padi UMKM and SooltanPay had welcomed more than hundreds of SMEs in Sorong and Manokwari online, with total transactions reaching hundreds of millions of rupiah.

In terms of infrastructure, Telkomsat is one of the providers of satellite-based networks from upstream to downstream that can contribute to the development of national telecommunications infrastructure. Telkomsat currently operates two satellites, namely the Telkom-3S satellite and the Merah Putih satellites, and operates more than tens of thousands remotely throughout Indonesia.

Telkom and several local governments, namely West Papua Province, Sorong City, Sorong Regency, Raja Ampat Regency, on Thursday (24/3) signed a cooperation agreement on data, witnessed by Telkom Digital Business Director, Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid. 

Leap is an umbrella brand for Telkom's digital products and services to accelerate the digitization of Indonesian society. With Leap, Telkom expects to be able to support the growth of the digital ecosystem in Indonesia in order to accelerate the realization of national digital sovereignty, in line with the government's target in the next few years.
