Jakarta, 16 February 2022 – The LEAD by IndiHome eSport Academy, which started in September 2021, is now entering its final phase, the inauguration. After going through a series of qualification phases and coaching from professional mentors, IndiHome officially announced 14 academics who graduated as Indonesian eSport athletes at the LEAD by IndiHome Inauguration.
Previously, the academics underwent a physically and mentally strict discipline training session, by participating in various Southeast Asian eSport tournaments, including Wild Rift Champion SEA (WCS). In this prestigious competition, LEAD by IndiHome academic representatives managed to enter Indonesia's top six.
The academics who qualify as eSport athletes fostered by LEAD by IndiHome are Henry Nathaniel Reynard, Harry Nathanael Rainier, Muhammad Sholeh Salamudin Putra Pratama, Dewa Fabian, Michael Daniel Tabaraka, Tedy Prihanto, Steven Verdianta, Andrew Kusuma, Justin Welly Panvito, Farid Andika, M. Bevi Arianda Anwar, Sultan Yudha Patra, Hezkia Noel Songgigilan, and Muhamad Tabina Widyatna.
E. Kurniawan, Vice President Marketing Management of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) said LEAD by IndiHome will continue to foster the graduating academics and prepare them to become the best eSport athletes who are ready to compete at national and international levels. According to him, the LEAD by IndiHome graduation is part of Telkom's real action through IndiHome to support the eSport industry development by producing the best talents.
“This inauguration is the first step for LEAD by IndiHome academics to prove their best contribution to eventually reach a global level. We hope that the knowledge they obtained during the training could be useful and have a positive impact on becoming the best eSport athlete for Indonesia," E. Kurniawan said.
Indonesian eSports Executive Board (PBESI) Deputy Chairman for Public Relations and Communications, Andrew Tobias, said LEAD by IndiHome's support in producing the best eSports athletes played a major role in advancing the country's electronic sports ecosystem. “Congratulations and we wish you success on your graduation from LEAD by IndiHome. We are optimistic that Telkom's role and support together with LEAD by IndiHome academics can have a positive impact on the nation and mark Indonesia's name in the world through eSports," Andrew said.
Indra Sjafri, one of the mentors of LEAD by IndiHome, concurred, saying that he appreciated the academics' graduation from LEAD by IndiHome. According to him, in addition to fostering sportsmanship, what an eSport athlete should take note now is nurturing and upholding a sense of nationalism. "Because these LEAD by IndiHome athletes are part of the nation's ambassadors who carry Indonesia's name in all world-class competitions. So, uphold your and the nation's good names, and make a mark for Indonesia with your best works and contributions in eSports," Indra said.
