Jakarta, 27 November 2021 – Indonesia Telecommunication and Digital Research Institute (ITDRI), a forum for developing digital talent based on innovation and research, held the ITDRI Festival comprising of virtual exhibitions and webinars and featuring works from Telkom's digital talent in the scope of learning, innovation, and research. The ITDRI Festival is an event to boost enthusiasm for work, collaboration, and resolution to continuously developing digital talent in order to achieve Indonesian technological independence. The ITDRI Festival consists of several events, namely the Indonesia Digital Innovation Showcase (IDIS), ITDRI Digital Conference 2021, and the launch of the Digital Capability Center.

In his remarks, Telkom Human Capital Management Director Afriwandi said that ITDRI played a role in fostering the development of talent capabilities. There are around 25,000 digital talent candidates from 13 state-owned enterprises (SOE) clusters. These digital talent candidates studied digital mindset behavior and intrapreneurship in preparation to create and validate various ideas into innovations that could have a big impact in the future. In order to support technological readiness, ITDRI has conducted various researches, and there are roughly 15 research papers applicable for implementation with SOE partners and several Indonesian universities. ITDRI is also building a digital lab as a place for digital talent to conduct experiments on research and innovation.

“ITDRI established innovation management by Amoeba, also known as BIMA for innovators in 13 SOE clusters. Two of the dozens of leading innovations that these innovators have created, have successfully passed various phases along the innovation journey and product assessment, namely BigBox and OCA. We want to encourage these two innovations to become a new revenue stream for Telkom and also to meet the needs of the Indonesian people at large. The Deputy for Information Technology and Human Resources at the SOE Ministry, Tedi Baratha also took part in the ITDRI Festival 2021 by launching BigBox and OCA on 24 November 2021. I called on TelkomGroup colleagues to always boost collaboration and synergize internally and with fellow SOEs in various clusters so that in the future, the incubating innovations could emulate BigBox and OCA's success in becoming Telkom Indonesia's portfolio products," Afriwandi said.

SGM Telkom CorpU & Chairman of ITDRI, Jemy V. Confido who was also present at the ITDRI Festival grand opening said, "At this ITDRI Festival, we can virtually digitally show the results of work in the fields of learning, innovation, and research and without a doubt, these works would be useful in dealing with various pain problems within the TelkomGroup and our colleagues in the SOE of various cluster, so that in turn they can achieve Indonesian technological independence.”

The entire ITDRI Festivals is held using the Smarteye Virtual Convention Center (SVCC), which is also supported by the VLIC Studio Telkom CorpU, both of which are the work of Telkom's digital talents. SVCC serves as a platform for virtual exhibition at the ITDRI festival using a 360-degree video concept in order to provide a new and different experience for its audiences. Furthermore, in the second week of December, the ITDRI Digital Conference 2021 will be held to actualize a digital hub where the community can increase exposure through strengthening the scope of learning, innovation, and research.

The events held during ITDRI Festivals portrayed a great hope that it will become a resolution for ITDRI to continue supporting the development of digital talent in order to achieve Indonesia's technological independence.
