Telkom organized again the 10th Indonesia Digital Learning (IDL) program to equip teachers in facing the digital education era

Jakarta, 15 June 2023 – In today's digital era, the world continues to evolve and revolutionize, including the field of education, where technology has significantly transformed Indonesia's education process. PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom), as the leading digital telecommunication company in Indonesia, continues to initiate various programs to support Indonesia's education digitalization, one of which is through the Indonesia Digital Learning (IDL) program. This effort also reflects Telkom's commitment to implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices.

In its tenth year, IDL is once again conducted through digital boot camps aimed at improving Indonesian teachers' certification. The event was held recently at Graha Asia Plaza in Sumedang with 500 teacher participants who had not yet obtained the professional teacher education certification (PPG) in the Sumedang region, West Java. In addition to digital competency topics, Telkom also provided materials to support teachers' certification.

A participant and a teacher of Public High School (SMPN )1 Tanjungsari, Onih Neni, said she appreciated the IDL in 2023. "IDL is an extraordinary activity, I now understand better how to answer the UKG (Teacher Competency Test) questions. Because UKG is now the determinant factor to teachers' professionalism and welfare, so I am very happy to participate in this training," Neni said.

On a separate occasion, Telkom Community Development Center SGM, Hery Susanto, said that Telkom continuously organizes the IDL program, to improve the quality of Indonesian educators as digital talents in the current digital education era. "This program is a strategic step for Telkom in enhancing teachers' competencies to support the government's goal in preparing for the 2045 golden generation with outstanding and resilient generations," Hery said.

Since 2014, Telkom has initiated the Indonesia Digital Learning (IDL) program, which is a certification and digital competency training program for teachers in Indonesia who play a crucial role in shaping the nation's future generation. With the current digital learning system, teachers are required to enhance the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process, thus digital competency is a necessary skill for teachers to foster creativity in education. The materials and training provided in the IDL program are expected to better equip educators in their daily teaching, ultimately leading to the long-term goals of students as learners.
