Jakarta, 21 May 2019 – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) put the meaning of Ramadan into action by organizing an iftar titled “TelkomGroup 2019 Blissful Ramadan” at Al-Istiqomah Mosque in Telkom Landmark Tower, Jakarta (21/5). Telkom President Director Alex J. Sinaga, Telkom Chief Commissioner Hendri Saparini, TelkomGroup Board of Directors, employees, children from orphanages and administrators of the foundation attended the event, which is part of the TelkomGroup RAFI (Ramadan-Eid al-Fitr) Standby 2019 program, or Telkom Berbagi (Telkom Sharing).
Telkom President Director Alex J. Sinaga said in his remarks that during Ramadan, Telkom was organizing a series of TelkomGroup RAFI Standby 2019 activities, which consisted of Excellent Service – a program to ensure infrastructure reliability and quality, Special Packages for various products and services and Telkom Sharing through its corporate social responsibility program.
Throughout its Telkom Sharing activities accross Indonesia, including SOEs Are There for The Nation in North Kalimantan, Telkom has handed over a total of Rp560 million donations for 1,800 orphans, Rp2.55 billion assistance for religious facilities/Islamic boarding schools/orphanages, and distributed 2,750 the holy book of Al- Quran as waqf worth of Rp275 million.
Furthermore, Alex also reminded Telkom employees to continue providing the best service for customers, even though they were fasting. "Even though we are fasting, our product and company performance doesn’t decline. Even our April performance was better than the previous month. This is undoubtedly due to TelkomGroup employees’ morale and spirit to work. Hopefully all TelkomGroup subsidiaries would work together to provide the best for the company and the nation,” Alex said.
”Sekalipun dalam kondisi berpuasa, namun performansi produk dan perusahaan tidak menurun. Bahkan kinerja hingga bulan April lebih baik daripada bulan lalu. Hal ini tidak lepas dari semangat kerja karyawan TelkomGroup. Semoga seluruh perusahaan di bawah naungan TelkomGroup saling bahu-membahu memberikan yang terbaik bagi perusahaan, bangsa dan negara,” ungkap Alex.
TelkomGroup 2019 Blissfull Ramadan event started with an inspiring-and-sharing session featuring two themes, namely “Al-Quran Quantum Memory” presented by Nizar Hamid and “Health Paradigm When Fasting” presented by Dr. Ahmad Luthfi. Up next during Telkom Sharing session, Telkom President Director and Commissioner symbolically handed over assistance for orphans, houses of worship/Islamic boarding schools/orphanages and distribution of Al Qur’an books as waqf.
During the TelkomGroup RAFI Standby 2019 activities which began at the start of Ramadan, Telkom has organized a number of Ramadan Safari program in all its regional hubs in which Telkom directors were present. During the program, they have been inspecting the company’s infrastructure and services, meeting with the regional employees and handing over Telkom Sharing assistance for orphans, houses of worship/Islamic boarding schools/orphanages and equipment for people with disablities.
In addition to that, Telkom with Perum Jamkrindo and PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Pupuk Kaltim) organized SOEs Are There for the Nation Ramadan Safari tour in North Kalimantan, during which they handed over donations for 1,000 orphans and assistance for five Islamic boarding schools/worship facilities. The Safari Ramadan tour also donated 1,000 holy book Al Qur’an as waqf which would be distributed on May 24, 2019.
To help the community in fulfilling their basic needs, Telkom also distributed electrification assistance for 50 houses, construction of clean water facilities in two locations, 50 wash and sanitation cubicles and home development assistance for 10 SOE employees and and community members. In collaboration with the National Alms Agency (Baznas), Telkom also organized a discount market that offered 2,000 affordable staple food packages, held in two locations, Juata Laut and Islamic Center. Each staple food package consisted of 10 kg of rice, 3 kg of sugar, 2 liters of cooking oil, and 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk. On top of that, the SOEs also disbursed a total of Rp125 million scholarship assistance for 25 elementary, middle and high school students.
