Jakarta, 18 April 2021 – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) views that Hannover Messe 2021 is an important moment to promote the state-owned enterprise as a digital telecommunications company that focuses on three digital business domains, namely digital connectivity, digital platform, and digital service, Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah said regarding the recently-concluded Hannover Messe 2021.

"Through this international event, we can reaffirm Telkom and SOEs support to transform to industry 4.0 and to expedite digital transformation agenda in Indonesia in order to accelerate national economic growth and establish Indonesia's digital sovereignty,” Ririek said.

Telkom Digital Business Director M. Fajrin Rasyid said in his presentation during the world-class exhibition that digital technology has quickly transformed society, and generated new challenges. As the first Southeast Asian country to participate, Indonesia is a large country with a digital economy that is growing faster in Southeast Asia. In the digital era and the Covid-19 pandemic, Indonesia's challenge is to develop digital sovereignty, to accelerate Indonesia's digitization, to build a digital economy, and to encourage domestic digital content as a host in our own country. As a country, Indonesia must take advantage of opportunities in digital economic growth and appropriately utilize the data it has for community welfare,” Fajrin said at the Hannover Messe 2021, Friday (16/4).

In regards to Telkom’s ongoing transformation, Fajrin said that the existence of digital technology can provide many benefits and make Indonesia better and on par with other developed countries. Therefore, given its strength in connectivity, Telkom wants to expand its business to digital platforms and digital services. The move is expected as an enabler to develop digital sovereignty, as well as to support Indonesia's digital economy development. Telkom wants to strengthen several sectors in an effort to improve the digital economy, including the health sector, education, MSMEs, and agriculture.

In line with its digital transformation, Telkom also introduces digital ways of working, agile ways of working, and agile mindset. “In the past we were familiar with the waterfall method, namely defining requirements, developing the system, and releasing the program, each took a long time to complete. In this digital era, changes occur very quickly and if we still apply the waterfall method, the products released may not be relevant to the rapidly changing needs. Now we know agile methods and they are very popular. That means  we must determine the need quickly and develop it in a short time and for that, Telkom has applied Tribes and Squads," Fajrin said.

During the Hannover Messe 2021 exhibition, Telkom wants to show its readiness and commitment to accelerate Indonesia's digitalization. Telkom showcased several of its superior products and services, including fixed broadband services IndiHome, BigBox big data platform, IoT service solutions, Telkomsat satellite services, and digital solutions for various ecosystems, ranging from Wonderin for the tourism ecosystem to the Digital Market (PaDi) for SMEs as an aggregator application which serve as an e-commerce aggregator platform for MSMEs.

“Telkom’s presence at the exhibition reaffirms Telkom and state-owned enterprises’ support to industry 4.0 transformation by expediting Indonesia’s digital transformation agenda. We believe that Indonesia will be better with digitalization,” Fajrin said.
