Jakarta, 10 October 2022 – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) through Pijar Sekolah is committed to disseminate the spirit for digitalization in the education sector by supporting improvement of students and educators’ digital capabilities across Indonesia even in remote areas, through the Guru Unggul or Superior Teacher program, which has been underway since July 2022 with 1,865 teachers participating from all across Indonesia. 

 

Three finalists to clinch the Superior Teacher title made it the last selection round to compete for the title at the national level after they went through a series of preliminary selection rounds. The three finalists were Anggi Perdana from public high school SMAN 1 Bintan Pesisir in Riau Archipelago, Agussanaterny Ully from public high school SMAN 3 Kupang in East Nusa Tenggara, and Lutfi Hidayati from elementary school SDIT Permata Hati in Bekasi. The grand final round, themed 'Let's Be Shining & Inspiring', was held offline and online or in a hybrid manner. Telkom Digital Business Director Indonesia Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid and Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology's officials; Director of School Principals, School Supervisors and Education Personnel of Praptono, Acting Director of Teacher Professional Education Prof. Temu Ismail, S.Pd., M.Sc., Director of Secondary and Special Education Teachers Dr. H. Yaswardi, M.Sc., and Director of Basic Education Teachers Dr. Drs. Rachmadi Widdiharto, MA joined the event online. 

 

Lutfi Hidayati from SDIT Permata Hati in Bekasi was declared the winner in the grand final round and clinched the national Superior Teacher title after going through the juries' final assessments and based on the audience voting results. Agussanaterny Ully from SMAN 3 Kupang in East Nusa Tenggara and Anggi Perdana from SMAN 1 Bintan Pesisir in Riau Archipelago were the runner-up and the second runner-up in this competition. "This competition is a self-investment to develop relationships and also to increase my skills as a teacher," winner of Superior Teacher by Pijar Sekolah, Lutfi Hidayati said.

 

The Superior Teacher grand final round also titled Roni, a teacher at public elementary school SDN Fatubai in East Nusa Tenggara as the Favorite Teacher based on the results of the voting to select the winner from among the finalists. The top 50 Superior Teacher candidates had previously participated in a bootcamp briefing and training sessions ranging from public speaking, communication, and problem solving with logic.

 

Telkom hoped the Excellent Teacher program through Pijar Sekolah can support competency development of Indonesian teachers and will be able to increase awareness of Indonesia's education sector's stakeholders to collaborate in creating an educational ecosystem that focuses not just on students, but also on teaching staff.

 

"The Superior Teacher Program is held to provide a space for teachers in Indonesia to develop creativity, innovation, and become an inspiration in the education sector," Telkom Digital Business Director, Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid said.
