Jakarta, 7 September 2021 – As part of the efforts to support the digitization process in the mining industry, Executive Vice President of the Enterprise Service Division of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) Mohammad Salsabil, President Director of PT Freeport Indonesia Tony Wenas, and President Director of Transvision Peter F. Gontha signed the Official Cooperation for Digital TV Services Provision at Freeport Indonesia. The agreement signing, held in a hybrid manner at Menara Mega Syariah and through a digital conference platform on Monday (6/9) was witnessed by Director of Enterprise & Business Service Telkom Edi Witjara and Freeport and Transvision management. The scope of the cooperation is digital TV services provision in the Timika area through the SMATV HD (Satellite Master Antenna Television High Definition) service with premium quality.

Telkom Enterprise & Business Service Director Edi Witjara said in his speech that he appreciated Freeport Indonesia for their trust in Telkom and Transvision to work together in a business that is in line with Telkom's ongoing transformation into an even more competent digital telco.

"In this transformation, Telkom is becoming customer-oriented, and has a vision to become the digital telco of choice to advance the community through three main business elements, namely digital connectivity, digital platforms, and digital services, with of course the support of our four technologies with the largest capacity in Indonesia, namely fiber optics, submarine cables that are four times the length of the earth, satellites, and data centers," Edi said.

Edi also said that through Telkom's infrastructure, platforms, and digital services, the company is committed and ready to support Freeport Indonesia's business development forward through end-to-end solutions, especially in improving the effectiveness and progress of respective parties. 

Freeport Indonesia President Director Tony Wenas also appreciated Telkom and Transvision for their collaboration in providing digital TV services with very high definition quality. “With this service, we can provide the best facilities to Freeport employees as they are the company's main asset working far away in remote areas. Hopefully in the future we can continue this cooperation and yield good benefits for both parties," Tony said.

President Director of Transvision Peter F. Gontha also said on the same occasion that in a new era of the entertainment media industry, collaboration is a form of innovation that companies need to continue to grow and meet customer needs. "We hope that this collaboration between Transvision and Telkom will be the first step in our contribution to the big family of PT Freeport Indonesia through the best and quality shows and become a one stop solution service for PT Freeport Indonesia," he said.
