Telkom gave device electronic assistance collected from Eduvice restoration program to PEKA Taman Baca Learning Community.

Jakarta, 8 November 2022 - I PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) launched the Electronic Device Donation for Education (Eduvice) assistance program in its efforts to realize sustainable development initiatives and accelerate the growth of the national education sector. The program is Telkom's manifestation to reduce electronic waste (e-waste) by empowering vocational school students to repair electronic devices as part of their learning practices to be reused as a digital learning media tool for schools or students.

Telkom launched the Eduvice program recently in a live broadcast on Telkom CSR YouTube channel, featuring a talk show titled "E-waste Unwasted: Your Electronic Waste, My Study Room". The show featured Mohamad Bijaksana Junerosano as Founder & CEO of Waste4change, actress Yuki Kato as influencer, and Haiva Muzdaliva as Managing Director Director Indonesia Mengajar.

Eduvice receives donations in the form of electronic waste from the wider TelkomGroup family such as used laptops, cellphones and tablets with Android specifications, by registering through the website www.eduvice.id and submitting the electronic waste to the drop box provided. These drop boxes are available at four Telkom offices, namely Graha Merah Putih Gatot Subroto in South Jakarta, Multimedia Telkom Tower in Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, West Jakarta Witel office, and Graha Merah Putih Telkom Japati in Bandung, West Java.

"Electronic waste, which is harmful to the surrounding environment, can actually provide many benefits for school students to be able to access digital learning, especially in disadvantaged areas. We believe that the Eduvice program can improve the national digital education ecosystem in order to produce a competitive generation and of course has a positive impact on the environment," Telkom CDC Senior General Manager Hery Susanto said.

The electronic waste collected will later be sorted again to be repaired and distributed to schools or students in need, especially those located in the outermost, frontier, disadvantaged areas. Electronic devices that cannot be repaired will be distributed to government-licensed electronic waste processing institutions so that they can be processed properly. To date, 171 devices consisting of 72 smartphones, 15 laptops, 13 tablets, and 72 uncategorized devices have been repaired and will soon be distributed to beneficiaries around Telkom's operational areas.
