Jakarta, 21 November 2022 - Leading digital telco company PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) won another award that recognized its efforts to respect, protect and fulfill the rights of persons with disabilities in an inclusive workplace. Indonesia's Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah gave the national award to Telkom Human Capital Management Director Afriwandi on Monday (21/11) at the Aston Kartika Hotel & Conference, Jakarta.

This is the second award that Telkom received as a state-owned enterprise that employs people with disabilities, after receiving the same award last year. This proves Telkom's consistency and commitment to continue to provide equal opportunities for the nation's manpower to develop and make the best contribution to the nation. The Manpower Ministry (Kemnaker) conducted several stages of assessment to determine the best company for this award. The assessment began in September 2022 by taking into account several aspects, namely the inclusiveness of the recruitment program for disabilities, disability-friendly work facilities and equipment, and the disability talent development program.

Telkom Human Capital Management Director Afriwandi thanked the Manpower Ministry for the award. "This award would motivate us to continue to be an inclusive and disability-friendly company. In the future, Telkom will remain committed to employing persons with disabilities up to 2% of the total number of employees. At Telkom, diversity is very important because this is one of Telkom's strengths as a state-owned enterprise. We also thank the State-Owned Enterprise Ministry for always supporting Telkom to become a company that upholds equality and diversity," Afriwandi said.

There are at least in the TelkomGroup 80 employees with disabilities consisting of disabled, deaf, blind, and speech impaired in several regions and work placements, including in Telkom's subsidiaries. One of the ongoing efforts to provide the best work experience for the disabled community is the innovation of using i-CHAT, an application to assist the deaf in learning and communicating with sign language, implementing flexible work models (work from office and work from home arrangements for the disabled, to programs health program that prioritizes safety in the work environment or zero accident.

This award proves that Telkom is the best place to work for its employees. Recently, Telkom again became the only company in Indonesia to be listed in the prestigious Forbes 2022 World's Best Employers award with one of the assessment pillars namely equality and diversity. Previously, Telkom also received an award as a gender-inclusive workplace from UN Women Indonesia, certification and awards for Great Place To Work, LinkedIn Top Companies, and as General Champion for the implementation of AKHLAK's Core Values in state-owned enterprises.

AKHLAK refers to set of moral ethics which he launched as guidance for state-owned enterprises and is an abbreviation for Amanah (Trustworthy), Kompeten (Competent), Harmonis (Harmonious), Loyal (Loyal), Adaptif (Adaptive), and Kolaboratif (Collaborative).
