Telkom remains committed to supporting Indonesia to face Industry 4.0 through Leap-Telkom Digital

Jakarta, 5 May 2023 – The government continues to strive towards realizing Indonesia's aspiration to become a developed nation by its centennial in 2045. Embracing the industrial era 4.0 forms a crucial part of these efforts, preparing Indonesia to stand as a more prosperous and competitive entity globally. The application of digital technology is pivotal in enhancing competitiveness during the Industry 4.0 era. Consequently, digital sovereignty in Indonesia must be fostered through increased digital connectivity, proficiency in digital skills and literacy, and effective governance of digital data.

In its pursuit to bolster Indonesia's digital transformation and achieve digital sovereignty, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom), a state-owned digital telecommunications company, remains steadfast in its commitment. Through Leap-Telkom Digital (Leap), Telkom aims to play a pivotal role in the success of Indonesia's digital transformation efforts.

Launched last year, Leap serves as the overarching brand encompassing Telkom's digital products and services. Its establishment underscores Telkom unwavering dedication to accelerating the digital ecosystem across various sectors within Indonesia.

Telkom Digital Business Director, Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid, reaffirmed this commitment during the Hannover Messe 2023 in Germany last April. Addressing attendees at Europe’s largest industrial exhibition, Fajrin said that Telkom role is a key driver in fostering digital sovereignty in Indonesia. He highlighted Telkom strengths, including its leading network infrastructure and comprehensive digital services across diverse sectors.

Fajrin outlined Telkom strategic transformation into a digital telco, focusing on digital connectivity, platforms, and services to solidify its position in the digital industry. "All of Telkom digital products and services fall under the Leap-Telkom Digital umbrella. Leap signifies Telkom evolution into a digital telco that benefits the nation and its people," Fajrin said.

Leap embodies Telkom mission to expedite the development of sustainable, economically viable, and accessible intelligent digital infrastructure and platforms through its array of digital products and services. These products have not only been introduced domestically but also showcased at prestigious international events such as Dubai Expo, London Tech Week, and most recently, Hannover Messe 2023.

Leap integrates into various critical sectors to orchestrate a digital ecosystem that enhances convenience, thereby accelerating digital sovereignty. Key initiatives include PaDi UMKM for the micro, small and medium enterprises sector, Agree for agribusiness, and Logee for logistics nationwide. Additionally, advancing technologies like internet of things (IoT) through the Antares platform with extensive features and unlimited data capacity further catalyze digital sovereignty.

"Industries including manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain can utilize Antares to optimize operational productivity. Leap continues to target additional sectors to ensure Indonesians adapt seamlessly to technological advancements in the Industry 4.0 era," Fajrin said.

Digital technology represents a decisive step towards realizing Indonesia's ambition as a developed nation. The presence of Leap aims to address current digital challenges and expedite the development of an inclusive digital ecosystem within the country.
