Jakarta, 24 October 2022 - As a state-owned telecom company telecommunications that supports national digital acceleration, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) always produces various innovations to improve people's welfare. Through the three main pillars - digital connectivity, digital platforms, and digital services - Telkom focuses on increasing its capabilities to provide the best service as problem solutions in various industrial sectors.

In line with the government expectation that state owned enterprises must carry out two main functions as agents of value creators and agents of development, Telkom continues to develop and strengthen the digital ecosystem in a sustainable manner in order to provide maximum benefits for society.

Indonesia's State Owned Enterprise Minister Erick Thohir said that digital economic growth is driven by many factors, notably by providing digital infrastructure, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and startups. The potential for digital economic growth will certainly involve all digital stakeholders to work together to become one unit. "When we talk about the digital economy, we also talk about infrastructure. Currently, Telkom is also focusing on the B2B and B2C segments to further push digital potential. With Telkom's presence, especially through fiber optics, data centers, and 5G towers which are maximized through the entire TelkomGroup, it will form one large, sustainable ecosystem. Let's explore together the digital economy world that Indonesia has, " Erick Thohir said.

Deputy II State Owned Enterprise Minister Kartika Wirjoatmodjo in the SOE International Conference last week said that BUMN must take advantage of the digitalization trend by developing a digital ecosystem so that it can continue to grow. “We have seen Telkom's efforts to build BTS in remote areas as an effort to open telecommunication access. This is an investment in the back end sector. This of course aims to create a digital ecosystem that is more evenly distributed throughout Indonesia," Kartika said.

Telkom's aspiration to be able to provide inclusive digital solutions for the community is also in line with one of the main themes and objectives to be realized in the G20 multilateral forum. Indonesia as the host and the country that holds this year's G20 Presidency seeks to accelerate global economic recovery in various industrial sectors through the use of digital technology. With the spirit of transformation, Telkom is committed to realizing this goal not only by presenting a variety of digital services, but also by increasing digital literacy among the public so as to create a comprehensive digital ecosystem.

Telkom President Director, Ririek Adriansyah, who is also the head of Indonesian B20 Digitalization Task Force 2022, recently said that digital inclusion must be realized to deal with the flow of digitalization, which has changed people's lives and human interaction. In addition, it is necessary to ensure that all people must be able to benefit from the positive impact of digital technology.

Telkom has shown concrete steps in building digital connectivity in remote corners of the archipelago to explore the economic potential at various levels of society. Currently, Telkom has a fiber optic network infrastructure reaching 171,654 km or the equivalent of 4x around the earth supported by 2 satellites with a total capacity of 109 transponders, which can reach remote villages. With comprehensive network connectivity, people in the regions have the same opportunities and opportunities in running a business and getting qualified facilities to support their lives.

Not only through digital infrastructure, Telkom also provides various digital platforms and services that the community can utilize. Telkom owns 28 data center facilities, including 23 domestic and 5 overseas, which can support Indonesian companies and startups development.

In addition, to provide convenience and the best experience for the community, having a digital economic ecosystem can optimize services and products that support the community's economic improvement. This optimization will be an accelerator for Indonesia to become a major power in the digital economy in the region and the world. Several solutions that Telkom produced to drive the national digital economy include PaDi UMKM (MSMEs), Agree (agriculture and fisheries), Logee (logistics), BigBox (One Data Indonesia), and many other digital services.

"Telkom continues to focus on developing infrastructure in all regions, especially in the frontier, remote, and underdeveloped regions to explore the digital economy potential. Apart from digital infrastructure, Telkom's business pillars are digital platforms and digital services. That's why we also have an incubation program for startups and a program for MSMEs. We are also active in developing various platforms and applications in Indonesia and in several other countries and in collaboration with companies from various sectors," Ririek said.

The various digital technologies that Telkom developed surely require collaboration from the government and business actors to be able to strengthen digital economic growth and provide positive benefits through a digital ecosystem established across all societies.
