Jakarta, 11 March 2022 – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) is committed to supporting the realization of Indonesia's digital sovereignty by giving the best contributions to the country in all sectors. In an effort to support the digitization acceleration of the national defense sector, Telkom collaborated with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Headquarters or Mabes TNI to provide TNI with satellite transponders throughout 2022. The signing of the cooperation was carried out by a TNI Commander deputy, Rear Marshall Agus M. Bahron and Telkom EVP for Government Service Division Dedy Mardhianto, witnessed by Telkom Enterprise & Business Service Director Edi Witjara, at the Telkom Landmark Tower in Jakarta on Wednesday (9/3).

In his remarks, Telkom Enterprise & Business Service Director Edi Witjara expressed his gratitude for the military's trust in Telkom to support meeting their needs for information & communication technology (ICT) services across the country stretching to remote areas. Telkom also fully supports the acceleration of digitalization within the military, starting from developing digital talent to providing telecommunications networks.

"As a form of Telkom's commitment to improving satellite-based services to all customers, especially the military, we continue to develop and complete our satellite service portfolio," Edi said.

On the same occasion, Rear Marshall Agus M. Bahron said, “I express my appreciation and gratitude to Telkom for supporting TNI with a satellite communication system so that our plan can run accordingly. I really look forward to Telkom's continued support and cooperation with TNI and improving by preparing fast, precise, and safe satellite transponders according to the dynamics of the TNI's duties."

Agus M. Bahron also expressed his desire to visit and learn more about Telkom's command center, satellites, data center and command center network, which are expected to support TNI activities.

The telecommunications network via satellite is a fairly secure medium in communicating with a wider coverage than any other media. For this reason, satellite services are expected to support the military's performance in carrying out state duties on a regional, national and international scale.
