Telkom has developed various innovations to support Web3, such as a halal certification platform and a blockchain-based, state-owned enterprise loyalty point exchange platform.
Jakarta, 8 September 2023 - Participants in the Bali Annual Telkom International Conference (BATIC) 2023 showed enthusiasm for the second day's theme, "Building Web3 Infrastructure in the Indo-Pacific Region." The session, hosted by PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) through its subsidiary, Telin, featured a series of speakers discussing future trends in Web3 and its impact on the growing connectivity needs in the Indo-Pacific.
Vincent Stevens, Senior Managing Director of Delta Partners, moderated the conference and explained how Web3 can reshape connectivity structures to ensure a more inclusive, secure, and decentralized web for the future.

Telkom has developed several Web3 innovations using blockchain technology, including a halal certification platform, a waqf platform, and a loyalty-point exchange platform.
Microsoft Chief AI Strategist, Manprit Singh, discussed how generative AI is revolutionizing telecom businesses, from optimizing networks to delivering personalized customer experiences. Singh emphasized the transformative potential of generative AI in driving innovation, efficiency, and competitiveness in the telecommunications sector.
The conference also featured Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison Director and Chief Business officer, Muhammad Buldansyah, who shared insights into Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison preparations and involvement in the Web3 ecosystem. He discussed how this technology can create new opportunities for sustainable growth in the region.
Additional sessions included a panel discussion with industry leaders which included Abdul Hamid Farid from Mastercard Indonesia, Melissa Kurtcan from Satoshi Twenty One Web3 Hub Bali, Paul Gampe from Console Connect - PCCW Global, and Steven GAO from China Mobile International.
The conference concluded with presentations by Global Network Infrastructure Vice President at Akamai Technologies, Gavin Tait, and a panel discussion featuring CEOs and Vice Presidents from iBasis, Sparkle, Vox Solutions, and Tech Mahindra.
In addition to conference sessions, BATIC 2023 facilitated active participation and information exchange through meetings, networking sessions, and exhibitions showcasing the latest products and innovations.
