Pandjaitan, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Deputy II for State Owned Enterprise Minister Kartika Wirjoatmodjo visited TelkomGroup booth in the SOE International Conference 2022 expo area and listened to a presentation from Telkom Consumer Service Director and Acting Telkom Director Enterprise & Business Service FM Venusiana.

 

Nusa Dua, 18 October 2022 - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) continues striving to transform into a world-class digital telco that can always adapt to various situations, challenges and market conditions as it faces the rapidly growing digital era. The country's accelerating digital adoption is also increasingly papable in various vertical sectors including logistics, health care, education, agriculture, and financial services, which are utilizing digital services. Therefore, Telkom introduces digitization in various sectors to provide convenience and solutions for all community needs.

As a state-owned telecommunications company that is focusing on its transformation, Telkom is mandated to become a digitalization locomotive capable of driving Indonesia's digital ecosystem development. “Telkom has a responsibility and is committed to supporting digitalization. We build infrastructure and provide connectivity throughout the country, equipped with platforms and various digital services," said Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah in an interview with SEA Today at the 2022 SOE International Conference in Nusa Dua, Bali.

Telkom's transformation steps are considered successful in supporting the government in its mission to digitize the nation through various digital platforms and services. One of Telkom's biggest successes to date is the development of the PeduliLindungi application to support the government in successfully responding to the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. To date, the PeduliLindungi application has become one of the digital applications with the largest number of users.

Deputy II of Minister of State Owned Enterprises Kartika Wirjoatmodjo reaffirmed this in a panel discussion themed Economic Transformation through Digitalization: Impact to the Nation's Trade and Investment. Kartika said that PeduliLindungi is one of the leading digital applications that focuses on tracking and tracing functions, which are very useful during the peak of the Covid pandemic. PeduliLindungi also makes it easy for people to access telemedicine services so that telemedicine has become the best solution for people in accessing health services and various needs in one application. "Currently we are in talks to assess opportunities for post-pandemic PeduliLindungi application utilization, which allows it to become a Government to People app," Deputy II of Minister of State Owned Enterprises Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said. 

To date, Telkom has focused on working on its competencies and capabilities in the digital business through three main pillars, namely digital connectivity, digital platforms and digital services. The basic layer of Telkom's business is digital connectivity, with Telkomsel and IndiHome controlling market share that serves more than 80% customers across Indonesia. In addition, Telkom also has fiber optic infrastructure, telecommunication towers to satellites that are capable and can reach remote areas. The second layer after digital connectivity is the digital platform. Telkom has various platforms to be utilized in various sectors such as data center, cloud computing, Big Data with Big box platform, IoT with Antares platform, Ads with Tadex platform, and LinkAja digital payment.

Telkom also has a digital services layer which aims to provide various digital solutions for all levels of society, including the education sector through Pijar, the agricultural sector with Agree, the logistics sector with Logee, the trade and MSME sector through PaDi UMKM, as well as various entertainment services. To further build the company's competitive advantage, Telkom has launched five main strategies known as the Five Bold Moves. Telkom formulated this strategy to achieve long-term goals that can provide optimal value creation for stakeholders and society.

Ririek said that Telkom will continue to transform to keep up with market changes and target digital potential in the future. “In the next five years the digital economy will increase very rapidly and more and more people will apply  digitalization. Telkom is ready to digitize the nation with better digital adoption in Indonesia. We hope that Telkom's digital business will become the government's main partner in building digital solutions for the community. We already know that digital solutions have been proven to solve several social problems, such as the Covid-19 pandemic response and governance. The social assistance program is inextricable from Telkom's main priority in providing more benefits for the community," Ririek said. 

The three main pillars of Telkom's business were also on display at the 2022 SOE International Conference. Telkom also held business matching, investor talks, and corporate day with potential investors. As a side event of the G20, the SOE International Conference 2022 will take place from Monday to Tuesday, 17-18 October 2022 at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center. On that occasion, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin virtually launched the Indonesia Water Fund (IWF) program as an effort to improve access to clean water for all Indonesian people.
