Bali, 14 November 2022 - Telkom Indonesia and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) are collaborating to provide the best digital experience for the community and play an active role in supporting the growth of Indonesia's digital economy, in line with government programs. The two companies marked this collaboration by signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the B20 Summit on 14 November 2022 in Nusa Dua, Bali.
Indonesia is currently considered a resilient country that is surprisingly less affected by global economic uncertainties, having a tolerable GDP growth and inflation rate compared to other regions. This provides opportunities for extraordinary economic growth, including in the digital economy with a population of 280 million people. Indonesia is the largest and most populated country in Southeast Asia and has the highest Gross Merchandising Value (GMV) of the digital economy. According to several studies, in 2022, Indonesia's digital economy GMV is the highest in Southeast Asia with $77 billion and is projected to reach $220-360 billion in 2030.
Many stakeholders involved in the Indonesian digital economy ecosystem contribute to the digital economy potential in 2030, from startup companies, investors, digital population, to telecom companies that deliver impressive digital experiences to their customers.
