Jakarta, 28 October 2022 - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) closed the third quarter of 2022 with a record of yielding net operational net profit of 19.42 trillion rupiah or grew by 4.3% YoY. The company recorded 108.87 trillion rupiah in consolidated revenue with a positive growth of 2.7% compared to the same period last year. The company's Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) was recorded at 59.46 trillion rupiah or grew 2.6%. This achievement is the result of the company's exceptionally good operational performance while remaining focused on its transformation steps and its Five Bold Moves main strategy.

"Amid disruption challenges, Telkom is able to grow quite well and positively. We will continue to implement the Five Bold Moves strategy for the company's competitive and sustainable growth. We believe this step will provide optimal value not only for the company but also for stakeholders," Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah said in Jakarta (28/10).

Telkom subsidiary Telkomsel also recorded positive performance with 66.16 trillion rupiah revenue or grew 1.6% YoY. As part of the Mobile business segment, Telkomsel served 159.8 million customers with data payload that grew positively by 20.7% YoY to 12,128,796 TB and payload consumption up to 11,785 MB per data service user or grew 17.2% YoY. Meanwhile, Telkomsel's investment in GoTo also generates good synergy value for the company.

To maintain and guarantee network quality as well as focus on digital business development, Telkomsel continues to build Base Transceivers Stations with a total of 260,815 units (growing 6.1% YoY) until September 2022, of which 210,632 units are 3G/4G/5G BTS.

As the first mobile operator to offer 5G technology in Indonesia, Telkomsel continues its strategy to increase usage case for selective utilization of 5G through a demand-driven approach for B2C and B2B with partnerships in the manufacturing and infrastructure sectors, support in the education sector and participation in national and international events. An example of using 5G technology is in the mining industry with PT Freeport Indonesia and MIND ID by utilizing the first 5G Underground Smart Mining in Indonesia in September 2022.

In the Consumer segment, IndiHome is still the company's engine for revenue growth with a performance of 20.9 trillion rupiah or grew 6.4% YoY, with its contribution to the Company's total revenue increasing to 19.2% from 18.5% in the same period last year. With the addition of 438 thousand new customers, as of September 2022, IndiHome has served 9 million customers or grew 6.8% YoY.

In the Enterprise segment, the Company recorded a performance of 13.7 trillion rupiah with B2B Digital IT Services and Enterprise Connectivity as the main revenue contributors. Telkom will continue to strengthen its capabilities in the cloud business, including through strategic partnerships with global technology players, while continuing to improve quality in providing digital solutions to customers. Meanwhile, the revenue of the Wholesale and International segment grew 7.6% YoY to 11.3 trillion rupiah, contributed by growth in the international wholesale voice services business, as well as digital business including domestic and international A2P services.

In the tower business, Telkom subsidiary Mitratel continues to strengthen its position as the largest tower company in Southeast Asia with an ownership of 35,051 tower units with 1.44x tenancy ratio. The company believes there is a great opportunity for the tower business to grow, driven by demand from the cellular data business and the use of 5G technology. Until the end of the third quarter of 2022, Mitratel posted 5.6 trillion rupiah revenue or grew 11.5% YoY, with EBITDA and net profit growing 15.7% YoY and 18.1% YoY.

Until September 2022, the Company continued to focus on carrying out its Five Bold Moves strategic initiatives, with the current emphasis on Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC), InfraCo and Data Center Co. In the FMC initiative, both Telkom and Telkomsel are exploring the best business model that can provide optimal value for the fixed and mobile businesses broadband. The presence of FMC is expected to provide various services, technologies and prices based on customer needs, as well as being able to increase the Telkom Group's value proposition and competitive advantage.

In the InfraCo initiative, Telkom will optimize the value and utility of infrastructure assets, both towers and fiber, including infrastructure sharing. For the Data Center initiative, Telkom is collaborating with regional partners and is currently building two data centers in Batam. 

Telkom also continues to consolidate all data centers under one Telkom Data Ecosystem (TDE) with an estimated target of completing the consolidation in 2024.

As of September 2022, the company's total budget spending has reached 21.7 trillion rupiah or 19.9% out of total revenue. This spending budget is focused on developing telecommunication network infrastructure for a better customer digital experience.
