Telkom field officers inspected the readiness of TelkomGroup's network infrastructure ahead of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo (1/4). Not only is the telecommunications infrastructure ready for the 2023 ASEAN Summit, but TelkomGroup also ensures the quality and security of the services used throughout this international event.

 

Jakarta, 2 May 2023 – The 42nd ASEAN Summit in Indonesia is soon approaching, scheduled to be held in Jakarta and Labuan Bajo. In support of this international event, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) has ensured the readiness of all telecommunications infrastructure ahead of the summit, which will take place on May 7 in Jakarta and May 9-11 in Labuan Bajo, NTT.

Telkom not only ensures the readiness of telecommunications infrastructure for the 2023 ASEAN Summit but also guarantees its quality and security for this large-scale international event. Telkom Corporate Communication Vice President, Andri Herawan Sasoko, emphasized TelkomGroup’s commitment to providing top-notch telecommunications facilities and infrastructure to support the summit.

"We are committed to ensuring that delegates from ASEAN countries have uninterrupted communication and connectivity experiences during the 2023 ASEAN Summit. TelkomGroup has prepared both primary and auxiliary networks to facilitate seamless communication and interaction for summit participants, enabling them to conduct their activities smoothly and enjoy the best experiences while in Indonesia," Andri said.

As part of its preparations, TelkomGroup has enhanced the quality and capacity of several base transceiver stations in Labuan Bajo. TelkomGroup has also contributed to maintaining the quality of the fiber optic-based internet network in the area.

Additionally, TelkomGroup offers a range of services to meet the telecommunications needs of 42nd ASEAN Summit participants, from their arrival at Komodo Airport to the summit's main venue at the Meruorah Hotel. These services are also available at various activity venues for delegates, guests, and media covering the summit, including Ayana Hotel, Bintang Flores Hotel, Mice Golo Mori, Plataran, and Puncak Waringin.

TelkomGroup's infrastructure transportation preparations on the secondary and main feeder routes have also been completed at 100%. Furthermore, Telkom Indonesia has deployed base transceiver stations and additional combat base transceiver stations to ensure optimal connectivity during the summit.

"The readiness of the cellular network for the 2023 ASEAN Summit is at its peak. We ensure that satellite news gathering operations for the mass media can proceed smoothly with reliance on the TV pool from SEA Today. Our operations and telecommunications during the summit will strictly adhere to the best systems and human resources practices, which will be escalated to the national level. We are confident that seamless communication and connectivity during the 2023 ASEAN Summit will contribute positively to Indonesia's hosting and chairmanship of this event, reinforcing our country's pivotal role in Southeast Asia," Andri said.

Heads of state from 11 ASEAN member countries and friendly nations are expected to attend the 42nd ASEAN Summit along with an estimated delegation of 550 people.

"Indonesia's chairmanship at the 42nd ASEAN Summit presents a prime opportunity for all stakeholders to demonstrate Indonesia's reliability on the international stage," Andri said.
