Jakarta, 5 January 202 3 - PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) as the nation's pioneering agent for digitalization always strives to fulfill the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises's mandate to bridge government initiatives in assisting the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) development. One of Telkom's concrete actions is by developing the PaDi UMKM digital platform, which serves as the main marketplace connecting MSMEs with potential consumers, especially state-owned enterprises and provides them a platform to collaborate and make transactions.

MSMEs are one of the backbones of the national economy. However, since the Covid-19 pandemic, MSMEs have found it increasingly difficult to maintain and develop their businesses, and consequently slowed down the national economy. Two years since it was launched, PaDi UMKM has become a platform for MSME players to access a wider new market. It has also been useful for SOEs and users to meet their procurement needs.

Telkom Digital Business Director Fajrin Rasyid said that PaDi UMKM's purpose is to provide easy access for MSMEs to the procurement market, both direct purchases through the marketplace feature and tender purchases through the e-procurement feature. "PaDi UMKM makes it easy for office procurement activities to more than tens of thousands of UMKM sellers that have been verified and centralized in the vendor management system, and monitored by the Ministry of SOEs through the control service tower," Fajrin said.

Fajrin added that PaDi UMKM has so far succeeded in connecting more than 97 SOEs with more than 5,000 registered buyer groups. PaDi UMKM has also succeeded in creating an inclusive SOEs market, because more than 30% of the SOEs that conduct their procurement on the platform are not SOEs' regular vendors. "This means that PaDi UMKM opens wide equal opportunities for all MSMEs that have been registered on this marketplace," Fajrin said.

State-owned pawnshop PT Pegadaian is one of the SOEs that uses PaDi UMKM platform for its regular goods procurement for agents under the company's auspices. Pegadaian Network and Operations Division Assistant Manager Nanda Dicky Wijaya said that previously, Pegadaian's goods procurement relied on various vendors so that the quality standards varied and caused irregularities in its data recapitulation process. PaDi UMKM has assisted Pegadaian's entire procurement process and with a digital basis, the flow of Pegadaian's goods and services procurement has become 90% more efficient. The cost of the procurement process has also decreased, and it no longer requires pre-procurement meetings, so that spending is efficient by up to 90%.

"The presence of PaDi UMKM really helps Pegadaian to meet the company's needs. We often use not only goods but also services that MSMEs offer through the PaDi UMKM platform to support the needs of our agents. Data collection and documents at PaDi UMKM are available online, making it easier for us to recapitulate. The flow of procuring goods at Pegadaian has now become paperless, all our needs are also well met," Nanda said.

The transaction process on PaDi UMKM creates a sense of security for buyers. PaDi UMKM also has a tracking process feature so that every item purchased through the platform can be tracked in real time and buyers can always monitor their orders. This feature will greatly benefit companies that buy goods in large quantities.
