Jakarta, 7 April 2021 – PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) disrupted services in several areas of East Nusa Tenggara Province such as Atambua, Soe, Larantuka, and Kalabahi have gradually resumed normal at 13.20 Western Indonesia Time (WIB). The Maumere - Larantuka segment fiber optic network which was severed at the Maumere - Iliwengot point, has been successfully reconnected and is operating as normal. 

Telkom Vice President of Corporate Communication, Pujo Pramono said that the technician team immediately repaired the disconnected fiber optic cable upon arrival at the location, by laying out a 500-meter cable to reconnect the severed cables. "Than God, disrupted services in several areas especially in Soe, Atambua, Kalabahi, and Larantuka regions have gradually recovered. Meanwhile, we continue to restore the network in the Kupang - Soe section. However, TelkomGroup services throughout NTT have resumed normal operation, Pujo said.

Pujo also said that Telkom is still seeking temporary alternative routes to secure services. “We continue to alert a team of technicians to secure and anticipate any impacts that may arise due to the extreme weather in NTT. Hopefully this condition will be over soon,” Pujo said.
