Jakarta, 5 March 2022 – As a leading state-owned enterprise and digital telecommunications company, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) consistently strives to realize Indonesia's digital sovereignty, from big cities to remote, outermost, and less developed regions. This time, Telkom is ready to deploy digital infrastructure and services in the new national capital Nusantara. With a focus on providing connectivity, platforms and various digital services, TelkomGroup supports Nusantara to become a modern smart city .

"In line with the government's decision to develop Nusantara with a smart city concept, Telkom has a very significant role in ushering digital transformation. There are various opportunities and challenges that we must face. This is surely a big task as well as pride for TelkomGroup to be able to participate in supporting the digitalization of Nusantara as a smart city. The development plan includes three digital business domains (connectivity, platform and services) that synergize with all subsidiaries and the government," Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah said during his visit to review TelkomGroup service infrastructure readiness in Nusantara on Tuesday (2/02), accompanied by Telkom Network & IT Solution Director Herlan Wijanarko.

Telkom's network infrastructure current coverage in the Nusantara area, precisely in Sepaku District, includes 173 ODP and further development is possible. In addition, the Manado-Dumai Indonesia Global Gateway (IGG) submarine cable that crosses the Makassar Strait makes Nusantara connected to a direct global connection through the Batam and Manado gateways.

Telkomsel will also continue to maximize its mobile service with coverage expansion, capacity addition, and improving the quality of 4G and 5G networks in the Nusantara area.

In addition to providing the best connectivity services, TelkomGroup will also provide the best digital solutions through the construction of an Intelligent Data Center with Smart & Intelligent Network Security to support Nusantara in becoming a smart city with the best digital services and a high level of cyber security.

"To ensure we reach the optimum target of all infrastructure development plans in Nusantara, TelkomGroup will collaborate with Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, Ministry of Informatics and Communication and other related stakeholders. We hope the efforts and spirit for collaboration from all parties can encourage digitalization so that Nusantara as a smart city can eventually become a new face for a better Indonesia," Ririek said.
