Jakarta, 21 February 2021 – In light of the torrential rain that caused flooding in several locations in greater Jakarta area, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) has put all its telecommunications equipment and operational teams on alert as a precautionary measure to ensure that TelkomGroup services still runs as normal. 

 Telkom Vice President for Corporate Communication, Pujo Pramono said, "TelkomGroup telecommunications indoor and outdoor equipment in general are in safe conditions. Telkom has assigned personnel to be on standby in various areas, preparing supporting devices and generators as backup for electricity in anticipation of the subsequent flooding in areas where the devices are located."

 Out of 150 Automatic Telephone Centers (STOs) in Telkom Regional 2 covering the Greater Jakarta region (Jabotabek) and Banten that are operating, they are still in a safe and controlled condition. Telkom has also prepared adequately to minimize the impact of the floods in 23 STOs that had the potential to be flooded. 

 "Telkom continues to monitor our devices and networks, especially during this rainy season, in Jakarta and other regions throughout Indonesia in order to maintain the quality of service and ensure TelkomGroup subscribers convenience. Hopefully, the affected regions could soon resume a conducive situation,” Pujo said.

In addition to ensuring the network equipment safety, Telkom also sent humanitarian aid of hygiene kits, food, and mineral water to communities affected by the Jabotabek flood.
