Jakarta, 8 June 2021 – The construction of HyperScale Data Center, a large-scale global standard data center owned by PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom), is almost in the final stages for its campus 1. The construction  of international standard facilities with Tier 3 and Tier 4 certifications will boost data collection and processing capacity in Indonesia.

Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah, accompanied by Telkom Network & IT Solution Director Herlan Wijanarko and Telkom Wholesale & International Service Director Bogi Witjaksono marked the final stage of Telkom HDC office building structure construction by a topping off ceremony on Wednesday (9/09). President Director of PT PP (Persero) Tbk, the President Director of PT Arkonin and the CEO of IBM Indonesia were also in attendance. The first phase completion of Telkom HDC building construction is according to the target set from the start.

In his remarks at the topping off ceremony, Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah said that the construction of Telkom HDC reflects TelkomGroup’s spirit to keep developing, innovate, and become a leading company in the data center and digital telco business. Telkom HDC will become one of the largest capacity data centers in Indonesia once it starts to operate.

“Having Telkom HyperScale Data Center demonstrates Telkom’s huge capacity to become the leading digital telco company in Indonesia and the world. This is also an important milestone for Telkom to become a major player in the digital platform domain, in line with Telkom’s transformation and vision to become a digital telco. With a focus on opportunities to find local, regional and international players as tenants, the construction of Telkom Hyperscale Data Center should accelerate digital platform business as an enabler of various ICT services and solutions for global players and corporations from various sectors such as finance & banking, government, private. sector, manufacturing, content provider, and global cloud provider," Ririek said.

The Telkom HDC complex is built with the ECO (Evolve, Connected, & Origin) concept. This building is designed with a woven pattern that symbolizes Telkom's spirit to increase effectiveness and efficiency, in order to create the best digital experience for the society.

Telkom Network & IT Solution Director Herlan Wijanarko said, Telkom HDC as a data center complex has many strong points. Firstly, this facility is connected to the entire TelkomGroup network, making its scope of work as the largest data center in Indonesia.

Secondly, Telkom HDC has international-scale supporting facilities, carrier neutral, and multi services for other provider networks. This allows Telkom HDC to become the main choice for domestic and foreign business in various sectors such as finance, manufacturing, and cloud computing service providers.

The Telkom Hyperscale Data Center complements the data center facilities that Telkom owns. It also strengthens and maintains Telkom’s position as the market leader in the data center business. Telkom already has 26 data centers consisting of 5 international data centers, 18 neuCentrIX and data centers tier 3 and 4. With the support of data centers spread across many locations and connected to a broadband network, Telkom is ready and able to accommodate future needs, such as 5G, blockchain edge technology and many other future needs. This is certainly a competitive advantage for Telkom's data center to compete in the digital platform business.

Telkom's position as the leader in data center management business in Indonesia is also strengthened with the completion of the Telkom HDC building construction. The large data center capacity and wide coverage strengthens Telkom's ability to accommodate community, business, and government various telecommunication and digital needs.

The Telkom HyperScale Data Center is built on an area of ??65,000 meter square land, with a total capacity up to 10,000 racks, and an electrical power of around 75 MW. With its concept of a green data center, Telkom HDC will become a data center that operates with minimum carbon dioxide gas emission. This is possible because Telkom will utilize a number of gas-fired power plants and solar panels to power its public areas and offices.

For the record, TelkomGroup's commitment in the data center business has been proven several years ago. Since 2015, Telkom has always been the first company to obtain international standard certification (Tier 3 & Tier 4 Uptime Certification) and the only company in Indonesia that obtains the TCOS Uptime Certification for Operational Certification Uptime.

"We believe that having the Telkom HyperScale Data Center can have a major impact on efforts to increase the number of corporations that go digital and have a competitive edge in the current digital era. This also confirms Telkom's position as a leading telecommunications company and digital service provider in Indonesia," Ririek said.
