Jakarta, 10 December 2020 – In order to improve its services to the community and ensure that fuel e distribution runs effectively and efficiently, PT Pertamina and PT Telkom Indonesia (Telkom) have finalize the digitization program for gas stations across Indonesia. The gas station digitization is a real-time monitoring system for fuel distribution and sales transactions at each station aimed to improve service and operational standards. This digitization will enable Pertamina to monitor the fuel stock condition and sales, payment transactions at gas stations and manage the distribution of subsidized fuel. Moreover, a number of authorities such as the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, the Ministry of Finance, and Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) can directly access all the digitized data, so that they can support each other in monitoring the distribution of fuel, including the subsidized Bio Solar (B30) and the assigned one, known as Premium.
The gas station digitization comes with a number of features, such as the prepurchase program (pay first, fill the gas later), cashless programs using digital payments, taking records of the license plate of vehicles that fill up their tanks with subsidized fuel, as well as customer profiling based on the MyPertamina loyalty program, where the public will get convenience in making transactions and find out the availability of fuel they need.

The Head of BPH Migas M. Fanshurullah Asa, in his remarks at the BPH Migas Award and the Awarding of the ISO 37001 Certificate Night−−which took place on BPH Migas’ 17th anniversary−−spoke about the gas station digitization that Telkom and Pertamina have been conducting. "We have made a digitalization program for all distributors so that BPH (Migas) supervision will be more effective in the future. Until now, almost 100% of ATG and EDC have been installed, as a result of Telkom and Pertamina cooperation. This is also an effort to ensure that the state budget allocation for fuel subsidies will be correct in its volume and meet the right on target," M. Fanshurullah Asa said.

President Director of Telkom, Ririek Adriansyah said "the completion of digitizing gas stations is an important moment for Telkom in introducing an integrated system in the fuel distribution. The digitalization of these gas stations certainly provides many benefits not only for Pertamina as  the fuel distributor, but also for the government and the public.”

Ririek thanked all parties for appreciating Telkom at the BPH Migas Award and the Awarding of the ISO 37001 Certificate Night. “We would like to thank the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for entrusting Telkom and Pertamina to execute the gas station digitization program. We also thank BPH Migas for appreciating Telkom on our contribution in boosting business activities growth in the oil and gas downstream sector. We surely also thank Pertamina as the operator for their trust and good synergy in carrying out the gas station digitization. In the future, Telkom will continue to be present to provide digitalization for both the state-owned enterprises and other corporations in Indonesia, in accordance to the government’s goal,” Ririek said.

The collaboration between the two state-owned enterprises of different sectors began with the signing of cooperation for digitizing gas stations, following an the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources’ assignment to Pertamina to use the electronic recording system for the distribution of subsidized fuel to the end of the distribution point (nozzle). The program has been running for two years and various relevant stakeholders, the public, and the government have benefited from the program.

Telkom supports Pertamina in its gas station digitization program, which includes providing the telecommunications infrastructure through fixed, mobile and satellite networks; providing Electronic Data Capture (EDC) devices; training 290 contact center agents and 600 field officers to serve complaints about gas stations; as well as establishing a command center to proactively monitor the equipment at the gas station.

"We hope that the digitalization in gas station and other industries could increase the SOEs and corporations’ values and support public cashless transactions, so that it would be able to strengthen Indonesia's digital economy," Ririek said.
