Pangkalpinang, 28 June 2022 - As PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) approaches its 57th anniversary, it remains committed to support realizing an evenly-distributed digitalization in the education sector for all categories including in most frontier, outermost, and less developed regions, by providing laptops and Orbit internet modems assistance to Pangkalpinang SLBN or school for children with disabilities, Darunnajah Payabenua Islamic Boarding School, Ilzamin Maju Bahrin Islamic Boarding School, and state elementary school SDN 05 Pangkalan Baru recently. 

Telkom Commissioner Arya Mahendra Sinulingga and Telkom Human Capital Management Director Afriwandi handed over the assistance to representatives of the assistance recipients. Telkom also provided gambus musical instruments, wheelchairs and electric sticks for students with disabilities.

Pangkalpinang SLBN Principal Dra. Sahara expressed her gratitude for Telkom's contribution in supporting the realization of an evenly-distributed education digitalization. "We are proud and happy for Telkom's presence in Pangkalpinang. We hope that Telkom can continue to be a state-owned enterprise that cares for people with disabilities so that we can be equal with others, just like Telkom that always tries to be present evenly in every corner of the region for all Indonesian people," Sahara said.

Telkom Human Capital Management Director Afriwandi hopes that the assistance could support the acceleration of digitalization in education, especially in Pangkalpinang. "Telkom always strives to be present directly in the community by providing the best contribution, one of which by supporting digitalization in the education sector. In the future, this program will be more massively present throughout Indonesia and even in remote areas and for all categories, in order to accelerate having an equitable digitalization of education in Indonesia," Afriwandi said.

Telkom leadership and Regent of Central Bangka Algafry Rahman also took the opportunity to plant 15,000 mangrove tree seedlings at Sampur Beach, as a manifestation of Telkom's concern for the environment and synergy with the Central Bangka Regency Government.

In addition to the two events, Arya and Afriwandi visited GraPARI Pangkalpinang and had an interactive meeting with all Telkom employees in the Sumatra region, and paid a courtesy visit to Mayor of Pangkalpinang as part of Anniversafari events carried out by Telkom Board of Commissioners and Board of Directors to celebrate Telkom Indonesia's 57th anniversary.
