Jakarta, 20 May 2019 – State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Ministry and all SOEs in Indonesia organized another SOEs Are There for the Nation 2019 program. This time, sieizing the moments of Ramadan, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) with fellow SOEs co-coordinator Perum Jamkrindo and PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Pupuk Kaltim) organized SOEs Are There for the Nation Ramadan Safari tour in North Kalimantan (5/17). The event tok place in Tarakan City, with Assistant for Economics and Development of the North Kalimantan Provincial Government, Syaiful Herman representing the North Kalimantan Governor, Mayor of Tarakan Dr. Khairul, Eko Setiawan, Telkom Director of Network & IT Solution Telkom Zulhelfi Abidin and representatives for the SOEs co-coordinator Perum Jamkrindo and Pupuk Kaltim.

Telkom Director of Network & IT Solution Telkom Zulhelfi Abidin said in his remarks that he hoped the Safari Ramadan tour, which marked the start of SOEs Are There for The Nation program, would come as a good start and serve as a favor for the community. 

"We can seize the Ramadan moments through this activity to gather with our brothers and sisters and colleagues to need to share happiness with others," Zulhelfi said.

In this Ramadan Safari tour in Tarakan City, Telkom with Jamkrindo and Pupuk Kaltim handed over a number of assistance including donations for 1,000 orphans, support to five Islamic boarding schools/worship facilities including Al Marhamah orphanage, Raudhatul Jannah orphanage, Raudhatul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School, Darul Faizin and Hidayatul Malinau mosques. The Ramadan Safari tour also donated 1,000 endowments for the holy book Al Qur’an which would be distributed on May 24, 2019.

In addition to that, to help the community in fulfilling their basic needs, Telkom also distributes electrification assistance for 50 houses, construction of clean water facilities at two locations, 50 wash and sanitation cubicles and home development assistance for 10 SOE employees and and community members. In collaboration with the National Alms Agency (Baznas), Telkom also organized a discount market with 2,000 affordable staple food packages, held in two locations, Juata Laut and Islamic Center. Each staple food package consists of 10 kg of rice, 3 kg of sugar, 2 liters of cooking oil, and 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk. On top of that, the SOEs also disbursed a total of Rp125 million scholarship assistance for 25 elementary, middle and high school students.
Safari Ramadan tour is part of the "SOEs Are There for The Nation” program that the SOE Ministry initiated. This activity involved all SOEs and was held simultaneously throughout Indonesia during Ramadan. Apart from Safari Ramadan, the SOEs Are There for The Nation also consists of other activities such as free homecoming trip, getting to know the archipelago for students, 74th Independence Day celebrations, healthy walking, electrification, assistance for provision of clean water, wash and sanitation facilities, homes for SOEs employees and members of the community, scholarships and discount markets. 

"We are a state-owned enterprise that will always strive to improve the people’s quality. As a company that was born, grew and developed with the people, we will continue in the future to organize activities to help improve the welfare of society through corporate social responsibility programs," Zulhelfi added.
