West Kalimantan, 10 April, 2019 – To celebrate the State Owned Enterprise (SOE) Ministry’s 21st anniversary, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) and PT (Persero) Kawasan Industri Medan held a Clean-Up the Healthy Villages activities in Sungai Rengas Village, Kakap Sub District, Kubu Raya District, of West Kalimantan (10/4). The event was held to improve the quality and quantity of community empowerment through job creation and fostering a sense of togetherness between the community and SOEs.

"Healthy Villages Clean-up is one of the activities held to celebrate the 21st Anniversary of the BUMN Ministry and it is a manifestation of SOEs contribution to improve people's health and welfare," said Telkom Corporate Communication Vice President Arif Prabowo.

Arif said the “Clean-Up Healthy Villages" signified SOEs presence, which always strive to provide the maximum benefit for the country and to encourage community participation in building the region.

The Clean-Up Healthy Villages activities in Sungai Rengas Village included layering the roads with concrete through a cash-and-labor-intensive program involving 300 locals and 20 milennials who are employees of the SOEs, with a total assistance worth of Rp300 million. The road that was layered with concrete was a 700-meter main artery in Sungai Rengas village. Moreover, the millenials also held some sharing sessions with the locals. 

On the same occasion, Telkom also distributed assistance for educational facilities and improvements to religious facilities that were channeled through the Partnership and Community Development Program (PKBL). The assistance would be implemented by constructing Hidayatus Siddiqin Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPA) valued at Rp150 million, revamping the wash and hygiene and ablution facilities at the Hidayatus Siddiqin Mosque valued at Rp40 million.

Telkom hopes that these social activities held to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the SOE Ministry,  of BUMN could be a testament of SOEs presence amongst the Indonesian people and that it could provide benefits to society in general.

The atmosphere during of communal voluntary work activities to layer 700-m road with concrete through a cash-and-labor-intensive program in Sungai Rengas Village, Kakap Sub District, Kubu Raya District, West Kalimantan Province, Wednesday (10/4).

The communal voluntary work to layer the road with concrete is part of the Clean Up Healthy Villages during which Telkom also plegded an assistance to develop an Al Qur’an Educational Park and revamping the wash and hygiene and ablution facilities at the Hidayatus Siddiqin Mosque.
