Jakarta, 19 May 2023 - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has often underscored the importance of boosting domestic products procurement. The Indonesian president encouraged all parties, from the central and regional governments to state-owned enterprises to allocate procurement budgets for domestic products from micro, small and medium enterprises. On the other hand, in order to boost sales turnover, President Jokowi also encouraged micro, small and medium enterprises to go digital by marketing their products on online platforms.

PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) through Leap-Telkom Digital (Leap) has introduced in 2020 its e-commerce platform that enables micro, small and medium enterprises to go digital and expand their market share to be globally competitive. "PaDi UMKM paves the way for micro, small and medium enterprises to be more prosperous, but at the same time encourages digital adoption in Indonesia, which impacts on increasing people's digital capabilities, so that we can realize digital sovereignty in the country," Telkom Digital Business Director Fajrin Rasyid said.

A research conducted by the PaDi UMKM UX Researcher team showed that 80% out of all micro, small and medium enterprises registered with PaDi UMKM acknowledged a positive impression on their businesses. The survey, conducted via survey and interviews with the enterprises, also showed that they also recognize other positive impacts on their businesses, including better knowledge about online marketing and selling, legality, and financing. PaDi UMKM also makes it easier for sellers to transact, thus increasing the enterprises' turnover, among which is generated through new market penetration such as the state-owned enterprises market. The research also found that 73% sellers claimed that they could now make it into the state-owned enterprises market.

PaDi UMKM features also enables sellers to gain experience and to get more information about selling online, and to be able to increase their understanding of conducting transactions online, especially when dealing with state-owned enterprises.

The research also showed that the majority of existing sellers have experienced an increase in turnover from 10% to more than 100% after signing up with PaDi UMKM. As many as 41% of the sellers at PaDi UMKM with an annual turnover of below two billion rupiah saw an increase in turnover of almost 10%. In addition, more than 15% of the total sellers in the platform had an increase in turnover from 10% to 50%, some even had a turnover increase of more than 100%.

As a business-to-business platform, PaDi UMKM's main objective is to pave the way for micro, small and medium enterprises in the country to secure business transactions with various state-owned enterprises. PaDi UMKM tries to upgrade the micro, small and medium enterprises to be the national economy backbone so that they can contribute in establishing a more prosperous and competitive nation.
