Logee streamlines up to 50% of export and import operational processes at container terminals

Jakarta, 10 January 2023 - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) through Leap introduced Logee, a digital platform to digitize the logistics ecosystem and to provide more effective and efficient solutions in export-import business through the use of digital technology. It is part of the company's efforts to execute the Indonesian Minister of State-Owned Enterprises' mandate to accelerate the country's digital ecosystem. Logee's digital ecosystem is also in line with the government's aim to reduce national logistics costs, as stipulated in the Presidential Regulation Number 18 Year 2020 on Action Plans for Structuring the National Logistics Economy. Currently, logistics costs in Indonesia reach 26% of the gross domestic product, while the average logistics cost in neighboring countries reach 13%.

Telkom Digital Business Director Fajrin Rasyid said Telkom's efforts in accelerating the digital logistics ecosystem, especially in ports, have transformed from the conventional process to a digital, paperless process in a simpler and more transparent manner to reduce the operational logistics costs of Customs Services Management Enterprises (PPJK). "Currently, Logee has been integrated with the NPCT1 Container Terminal (New Priok Container Terminal One), TPK KOJA, National Logistic Ecosystem (NLE), and most recently, JICT (PT Jakarta International Container Terminal)," Fajrin said.

"With digitalization, the government hopes to reduce logistics costs by up to 17% in 2024. Telkom as a state-owned enterprise with a focus on digital strengthening, has a responsibility to accelerate this digital ecosystem," Fajrin added.

Port gate passes arrangement has become a daily operational activity by the Goods Owner or a PPJK. The use of technology has also penetrated the port terminal because it already uses the Terminal Operating System. Even so, it takes quite some time to order container shipping trucks, as owners have to contact each truck owner to ensure availability, and the owner of the goods cannot monitor the location of the truck in real time when the truck is transporting the goods.

Director of PT Adhika Maju Mandiri, Yosua Suryadhika shared his experience on dealing with such issues. According to him, there are many business potentials in the country's logistics and port industry but red tape remains rampant. "As a logistics player, especially in goods export and import, I find the container shipping process is complex. Arranging for gate passes also requires more effort as you still have to access several different Container Terminal billing systems and if there are problems with the documents, you have to come directly to Koja container port," Yosua said.

As a one-stop, business-to-business service solution platform, Logee provides services for goods owners or PPJK at Container Terminals, by managing export and import goods containers gate passes, enabling fleet search with visibility dashboard features, and obtaining digital gate passes for container truck drivers.

"We solved this problem after we started using Logee in August 2021. Logee is able to streamline up to 50% of daily export and import operational processes, such as managing storage and truck orders," Yosua added.

Head of Digital Vertical Ecosystem Logistics, Natal Iman Ginting, said that the integration of Logee with large terminals at Tanjung Priok and JICT accelerated the creation of a digital ecosystem in the port and logistics sector, so that costs and shipping processes are more economical and efficient. "Integration of the logistics ecosystem is very important to achieve efficiency in the logistics supply chain. This logistical scope is an ecosystem, which means it involves many items with various parties, from shipping companies, customs, container terminals to depots. Logee streamlines the process,” Natal said.

Logee is part of Leap, an umbrella brand for Telkom's digital products and services to accelerate the digitization of Indonesian society. With Leap, Telkom hoped to support the growth of the digital ecosystem in Indonesia to accelerate the realization of national digital sovereignty, in line with the government's target in the coming years.
