Jakarta, 17 February 2022 – In an effort to support Indonesia's digital ecosystem as the technology is rapidly developing, Leap-Telkom Digital believes the game industry in Indonesia has great potential to develop and become a major player in its own turf. This of course comes with a support for funding and mentoring the best digital talent.

Embodying the enthusiasm and continuing the success of the previous batch, Indigo Game Startup Incubation opened registration for the 5th batch  from 15 February to 7 April 2022. After registration, participants will take part in the Bootcamp & Selection phase in February until May 2022, during which participants will gain an understanding about product development, pitching concepts and game prototypes. The incubation stage will run for five months from June to November 2022. The Indigo Game Startup Incubation program will end in November 2022 with an Internal Demo Day to showcase each participant's work and to select participants for the next incubation stage in the Indigo program.

Telkom Digital Business Director, Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid said, "The strengthening of Indonesian game developers' capabilities has become the government's concern because it is considered important for the growth of Indonesia's digital economy. Therefore, Telkom continues to encourage the growth of the national game industry, with this Indigo Game program. We hope that Indigo Games can contribute significantly to the growth of game content created by our nation's developers."

Since 2019, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom), has initiated an incubator program, known as Indigo Game Startup Incubation. This ongoing effort is the first step taken in order to advance the game industry in Indonesia. The Indigo Game Startup Incubation program, under the auspices of Indigo, is a collaboration between Telkom and PT Agate International and is supported by PT Melon Indonesia.

Indigo Game Startup Incubation offers various benefits for game startups selected to take part in the incubation phase. Startups will get an in-depth training on game business knowledge with direct assistance from expert mentors, and have access to development facilities including coworking spaces that facilitate access to development tools that support product creation to development funds. Selected candidates also have the opportunity to test their target market by conducting validation tests, player retention, and monetization of their products. At the end of the program, startups can pitch to attract potential partners to publish the games they developed.

Since its initial launch, the Indigo Game Startup Incubation has fostered 200 game startups, incubated 27 game startups, and produced 14 selected studios that passed the pitching session at the end of the program and managed to get further funding opportunities in the Indigo program. This program is expected in the future to further strengthen the game ecosystem in Indonesia and serves as a launchpad for the developers to go global.

Indigo is part of Leap, the umbrella brand for Telkom's digital products and services to accelerate the digitization within Indonesian society. Leap is expected to support the growth of Indonesia's digital ecosystem in order to accelerate the realization of national digital sovereignty, in line with the government's target in the next few years.
