Jakarta, 7 October 2020 – In its efforts to support the development of local business players, notably millennial entrepreneurs, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom), through the Pekalongan BUMN House, graduated 26 millennial businessmen last week (30/9). The participants had participated in "It's Time for Millennials to Become Young Bosses” mentoring class batch #1 since September 4, 2020. This mentoring class or business incubation was the first one held by State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) House within Telkom and it would move on to other SOE House from Sabang to Merauke.

Telkom SOE House and the owner of Pande Rasa, in his capacity as a  succesful Pekalongan business player mentored the young entrepreneurs. Telkom provides eight modules throughout the class, from identifying market segments and target, problems and solutions, developing product uniqueness and strengths, to measuring key metrics to ensure a sustainable business in the long term. In addition, they are also equipped with strategies to attract investors or financiers so that these young business people can develop their business.

"When we began the program, our target was 15 millennial Pekalongan business actors. Thank God, we had 26 millennials participants, all of whom have been in business for at least six months. This is very encouraging, and it convinced us to continue the mentoring class model to other SOE House," Telkom Executive Vice President of Business Service Division, Syaifudin said on the sidelines of the event.

One of the participants, Muhammad Farhan, said that that the incubatuon class really helped  him to develop his thoughts to solve problems in the business world. “Telkom's applications such as Bonum and Qren are also very useful for business development. In fact, I even launched a new product after learning from the program,” he said.

Telkom Director of Enterprise & Business Service, Edi Witjara also launched the Mentoring Class batch   #2 for the SOE Houses in Sidenreng Rappang South Sulawesi, and Tarakan, North Kalimantan. Coaching or mentoring is also carried out in stages, as there are eight modules that participants must take. Learning and mentoring was carried out via video conferencing  due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The criteria for participants are high school students or students who have been running a business for at least six months.

"We really need a program like this by inviting millennial businessmen since Indonesia is currently very aggressive in increasing the acceleration of microeconomic growth, because it plays a very influential role in the Indonesian economy. We must fight together, by growing together #GakNyerah #AyoBerubah. I am sure that with firm togetherness, we can definitely get out of the existing crisis," Edi said.
