Cirebon, 29 April 2022 - Anticipating the end of the holy month of Ramadan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1443 H, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) continues to ensure its infrastructure, services and operational teams readiness in securing its telecommunications services quality remains in a premium condition. Telkom in particular ensures the best service quality for customers and the public in areas that have the potential of increased telecommunication traffic, such as holiday destinations, airports, ports, houses of worship, hospitals, health telecommunications facilities and Covid-19, as well as housing or residences. In order to check the readiness of infrastructure and services, the Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G. Plate, accompanied by the Director General of Resources and Equipment for Post and Information Technology, Ismail, and the Director General of Information and Public Communication, Usman Kansong, visited the Telkom Cirebon Regional Office on Friday (29/04). This is part of the Minister of Communication and Information visit to Cirebon and Sukabumi to monitor the 2022 Eid holiday travel flow. 

During his visit, the Minister of Communication and Informatics listened to explanations on TelkomGroup's service readiness ahead of Eid. To anticipate the surge in telecommunication traffic, Telkom has increased the capacity of 728 Telkomsel sites along the routes taken by holiday goers, increased bandwidth for Ramadan and Eid, as well as security at 1,177 Points of Interest (POI) or areas that became centers of increased traffic such as city squares, traffic routes taken by travelers, public service areas , tourist attractions, toll roads and others.

For areas along the Pantura or Java’s northern coast line, there are 12 main points that TelkomGroup security focuses on, including the Palimanan toll gate and 11 rest areas along the route. Telkom continuously supervises the backbone cable infrastructure including spare parts material and operational team. Telkom also ensures digitalization of all Pertamina gas stations located at the holiday travel lanes to get the best quality service so that it can serve the community more easily and comfortably during the homecoming holiday season. 

Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate appreciated TelkomGroup’s infrastructure and services readiness in anticipation of this year's Ramadan-Eid holiday season. “This homecoming holiday is the first one after two years’ hiatus  so it should be marked with joy. This is a moment of truth where people expect excellent service from us. The biggest appreciation goes to Telkom for being able to anticipate the Eid holiday season well with the availability of infrastructure, services, and personnel. Such support from Telkom proves that we are the digital backbone of Indonesia. Let's work together to coordinate with each other so that the holiday trip and the returning flow goes well."

Meanwhile, Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah said, “This year's Eid is a very special moment for the people of Indonesia. For the first time, people can go home to their hometowns after two years of the pandemic. Therefore, we are committed to ensuring that TelkomGroup's various services remain excellent to accompany travelers and the public during the Eid holiday season. Telkom has also alerted 88 TelkomGroup Siaga RAFI Command Posts which we deploy regionally nationwide with more than 19 thousand personnel on standby 24x7 to ensure the public convenience in using various digital services. Telkom also participated in the Integrated Command Post with the Police and the Ministry of Transportation to support travelers’ smooth returning flow to major cities."

Ririek said that security is carried out with integrated coordination starting from the direct site to centralized escort. Both infrastructure and services are reviewed through a monitoring system that uses Robotic Processing Automation, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning technologies.
