Visiting Service Post, Minister of Communication and Information Appreciates TelkomGroup's Readiness to Build ICT Infrastructure for Mandalika GP Series

In order to ensure service reliability, TelkomGroup built a post that operates 7x24 hours manned by 408 personnel. These services are monitored regularly through the regional and national Integrated Operation Center monitoring system.

Jakarta, 21 March 2022 – The 2022 Mandalika MotoGP race to secure the world champion title is happening today. As a state telecommunications company, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) is committed to supporting the success of this world-class motosport racer by providing the best telecommunications infrastructure and services.

On Sunday morning (20/3), Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate visited the 2022 Mandalika TelkomGroup MotoGP command post, accompanied by Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah and Telkom Network & IT Solution Director Herlan Wijanarko during which the Minister of Communication and Information reviewed TelkomGroup's service readiness and performance in real time .

Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah briefly explained the company's infrastructure and service support in the Mandalika MotoGP Series events. TelkomGroup provides telecommunication infrastructure and services in the venue area including medical center, paddock, pit building, race control, TV compound, and tribune, including backbone and backup infrastructure. The total service capacity at the venue reaches 30.8 Gbps, with 684 fixed line service points including Wifi and IndiHome as well as 1,908 Telkomsel mobile cellular service points across various points in Mandalika.

The Minister of Communication and Information said he appreciated TelkomGroup's readiness and alertness in presenting world-class infrastructure and services to make the Mandalika MotoGP Series in Indonesia a successful race.

“Today is a moment of truth for a deliverable, a showcase of Indonesia both to the Indonesian people and to the world of our readiness for digital transformation. This is a showcase of Indonesian telecommunications, an opportunity that we must take advantage of in many ways. More than just giving impressions, economic development, telecommunications and tourism as well as improving the welfare of the community, especially the local community are just as important," Johnny G. Plate said.

Furthermore, the Minister of Communication and Information said that the Mandalika GP Series is a moment to raise Indonesia to be on par with other countries. Various parties, including racers said they appreciated telecommunication services in Mandalika, and in turn for that, the Minister of Communication and Information also expressed his appreciation to Telkom, Telkomsel, network and cellular operators that have collaborated to make this event a success.

The Minister of Communication and Information also visited Bale TelkomGroup, an exclusive lounge at Bukit 360 with a strategic location at bend 10 of the Mandalika Circuit set up for IndiHome and Telkomsel executive customers to watch the MotoGP race live.

Built on an area of 200 m square, Bale TelkomGroup is specially designed with a modern open space house concept so that visitors can clearly view of the interconnected track from the beach to the hill.

Furthermore, Ririek hopes that the Mandalika GP Series will further enhance the image of the nation and state for being able to organize world-class events despite the COVID-19 pandemic. "Hopefully Indonesia will become a stronger country in the eyes of the international community and more international events will be held in Indonesia in the future," Ririek said.
